Got Zweigelt? This wine is such a refreshing change from the normal or familiar... Even though I have loved this wine for many years, its not often i pull a bottle and go to Austria....Austria for red wine??? You better believe it! For those that shy away from new (or any) oak, this wine is like a mythical cross of primativo, pinot noir, and Beaujolais. Its a spicy, aromatic, easy, alpine red that is great straight outta the fridge. Thats right! Chill it. THE PERFECT SPRINGTIME Happy HOUR RED! Get some!

Wow...Todd Alexander, the 2017 Force Majeure wines are ALL INSANE! Folks, If you are a private customer of @Authenticwineselections in California, you will soon receive an offer on these wines that just received massive scores from Jeb Dunnuck (again) Pinots Noir under the brand Holocene got huge marks too. I get miniscule quantities of all these wines. This wine received 95+ points... its sibling, Estate Syrah got dressed up in 99 points~ almost perfect! But hey, thats just one man's opinion. You have the opportunity to find out for yourself. Todd, thank you for your art! When this is all over, I am driving up to buy you dinner and bring you incredible Euro-wines to drink with you and Carrie Alexander!!! The French would refer to this wine as a "gastronomic rose". Notice the vintage 2017... many accounts we sell to would not even consider looking at a 2018 Rose at this time of the year, much less a 17. Most (cheep or poorly made) Rose wine should indeed be enjoyed young. Not this one. This is a wine for the cellar...This Rose is not even released until a year after the vintage. Why??? It is Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre aged in used oak barrels. This slow, controlled oxidatio...n enhances and elevates the aromas and flavors and softens the texture. The result is a rose that offers up indescribable character, but ill try: Caramelized mandarin orange, burnt honey, fennel, rosemary, thyme and apricot marmelade. This wine is like drinking a red wine and a white wine at the same time. Certainly one of the most "interesting" wines I import. The first lot I brought over was only for me (not for distribution) I polished off the last bottle a couple months ago, and landed another drop with some extra cases to sell. This has to be the best white wine produced in Spain. I have never encountered a Spanish white wine that offers up what this wine manages to convey. For me, it's like a mythical cross 3 of the great appellations of France: (White) Rhone, (White) Burgungy and Loire Valley (Montlouis). Incredible wine!
