Aunt Myra's 30.09.2021

A finished Covid project. A small lap quilt for a small bag of squares purchased on Kauaii. It sat unfinished until I figured out what motif yo quilt in the green. All I needed to add was the last border. Took me 3 months to get to the quilt done! Yay! Finished, bound and washed. It’s pretty bright and cheerful, isn’t it?

Here’s the finished quilt. The eagle center is a panel. I added the flying geese and borders. I quilted it on a Babylock regalia, hand guided.

So I’m working in this eagle on the long arm at Brothers Sew and Vac. It’s really relaxing. This is a Quilts of Honor quilt. I have a top almost finished fir Quilts of Valor. It just needs borders. Merry Christmas

Happy thanksgiving. I’ve been working on my Etsy store. You can search on Auntie Myra. I’m selling a bunch of my sample quilts. I didn’t realize that I have so many.

Look what a great job my student did in class Yay Joy. Two color appliqué by machine. Joy will finish quilting this piece on her long arm. Didn’t she do a great job?

A tropical table runner in process. I am also learning to use a top of the line embroidery machine. This motif took 81 minutes to stitch out. Of course I had to modify the colors from the original to better match the chosen fabrics. I might just get this finished by this weekend.

I’m learning all the machines here at Brothers Sewing in Cameron Park. I’m taking an online course and the first segment is embroidery machines. I finally got brave enough to do this 7x9 design all by myself with no help. It’s going into a patriotic quilt. I did see an American flag on one of the smaller machines and might try making a couple of blocks of that design. I am so lucky to be able to learn all this new stuff!

Well gentle people, this is my last post on this page. I'm pretty much retired but still have fabric at Brother's Sew and Vac in Cameron Park, CA. I've closed down my web site and am not doing any more quilt shows. If you need to contact me, please use my cell phone - 916-207-3128. Merry Christmas and happy New Year. Here's to a great 2021!
