With great sadness we share the news that beloved parishioner Barbara Borsch died peacefully this morning, with her sons at her side. While our hearts ache at her passing, we rejoice in her many years in our community, and the many ways she blessed us with her grace, wit and selfless service. Let us pray for her family and all those whose lives she touched. May she rest in peace and rise in glory.

Commentary on Mark 1-4:34 (week 1 of our readings) "... fasten your seatbelt and hold on tight: in these first few chapters, Jesus is baptized, wanders in the wilderness, gathers his disciples, casts out demons, heals lepers, and takes on the Pharisees. But don’t let yourself feel whiplash: remember that this first part of the gospel is all about revealing the nature of Jesus and his ability to defy the earthly powers of imperial Rome and overcome the evil natures of the world."
