AUSD: Superintendent Site Visits Our Superintendent, Amber Lee-Alva, loves to visit our school sites. She listens to the students and learns from our amazing teachers and staff. Her ability to connect with everyone onsite is what makes her job as a superintendent so important. "By going onsite regularly, I immerse myself into the inner workings of our school district and this allows me to do my job better," states Lee-Alva. Public comments are limited to three (3) minutes speaking time. Members of the public utilizing a translator to address the Board shall be limited to six (6) minutes. There is a twenty (20) minute time limit o...n public comments per topic. If this meeting is breached, the Board Meeting will be cancelled. DELAC is an important advisory committee of parents of English Learners students from AUSD elementary and middle schools. The DELAC meets with district administrators and staff to discuss, learn about, and provide input on topics related to English Learners, such as: District programs and services District's Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) EL student achievement ELPAC testing and reclassification criteria The importance of school attendance Parent education classes and involvement All parents are welcome and encouraged to attend our DELAC meetings to learn about our programs and services to support our English Learners.
