President Williams and the Officers have been urging the District to take a common-sense approach to stop the spread of COVID at AC Transit. In July, we had 19 cases across the property, today we have 33 cases. D2, D4, and, D3 has been hit the hardest. We've had conversations with the District daily and tonight they have informed us, they will shut down D2 starting at midnight and resume operations at 12:00am on Monday. D2, please check with your dispatchers and look for communications coming from AC Transit for direction. The union feels this is a step in the right direction. We are urging the District to take the same steps with D4 and D3 on a rolling basis. We'll meet with you soon to update you on the International's, Ride Safe campaign and why you should get involved.

I am writing this post about three ATU 192 Brothers. Jesse Aguirre, Badge #198 started with Key System (now AC Transit) in 1960. His two sons Henry Aguirre, Ba...dge #55 AC Transit 1973, and John Aguirre Badge #144 AC Transit 1979. Together they totaled 122 years of membership with ATU Local 192. Jesse (Jesus) is pictured below (1960) in full uniform from top to bottom: Hat with Key System Badge; Railroad approved watch; Gilley Box with changer, extra rolls of coins, hat checks, Transbay tickets to sell and make change, and his punch. ATU 192 appreciates the 122 years of service the Aguirre family gave to our Union, our riders, and AC Transit!!
