We have the best patients! This adorable guy came all the way from the far east of Russia in Vladivostok to have right combined surgery with Dr. Roberson and Dr. Tahiri. He brought us delicious chocolates and the most beautiful flowers at his final postop visit, pictured here. His ear is healing beautifully, and we can’t wait to see his first hearing test result. Hearing test results before and after surgery The top audiogram was completed 7 months after left canal surgery; the bottom is the patient’s preoperative audiogram at our clinic. As you can see, his hearing levels were at approximately 60-80 dB preoperatively. Now, he is at 20-30 dB across all frequencies. We are so happy for him!!! This patient underwent surgery at 4 years old. He had a preoperative J-score of 8 based on his CT scan (1 point off for the outer ear abnorma...lity, and 1 point off for an abnormal connection between the second and third middle war bones). This score was confirmed at the time of surgery, as the middle ear bone connection (incudo-stapedial or IS joint) was mildly fibrous instead of bony. However, no prosthesis was needed in his case, and as you can see he achieved an excellent hearing outcome.
