Animated Short Film of the Month: Call for Submissions on FilmFreeway! Filmmakers are encouraged to submit films for ASIFA-Hollywood's Animated Short Film of the Month initiative via its FilmFreeway entry page at https://filmfreeway.com/ASIFA-Hollywood. ASIFA-Hollywood accepts films on a rolling basis (the deadline listed on its FilmFreeway page is the final deadline for 2020). Films will be selected and announced on a Wednesday of every month.... Netflix Invites ASIFA-Hollywood Members and Their Family to a Special Online Screening and Filmmakers' Q&A of OVER THE MOON Directed by animation legend Glen Keane, and produced by Gennie Rim and Peilin Chou, OVER THE MOON is an exhilarating musical adventure about moving forward, embracing the unexpected, and the power of imagination. The 24 HOURS Animation Contest for Students is Open for Entries! What could you animate in 24 hours? The 18th annual 24 HOURS: Animation Contest for Students will be hosted online, from Friday October 2nd to Saturday October 3rd. This free event challenges students around the world to compete in teams of five to produce a 30-second animated film in under 24 hours. This contest has expanded rapidly, adding more than 300 students each year to a growing list of participants, s...aid the contest's founder, Aubry Mintz. In 2019, there were 291 teams from 65 schools in 16 countries that’s 1455 students! Industry supporters are getting behind this contest with efforts to support students in new ways. For example, the equipment request program for underserved students will not only allow entrants to participate in this year's challenge, but provide tools to aid in their virtual learning and art endeavors.
