This is me.... dimples and all! Patiently awaiting warmer weather and regular spray tans again from my girl! Hahaha @sierrama get ready for this! . So, a year ago I would have photoshopped this photo to make it look perfect. Whatever that might be. Because let’s be real, perfection doesn’t exist. So instead I’m trying to embrace that this is MY perfect!!! And I’m worth it!!! . Ok, but let’s be real... why do we shame our bodies more than we praise them? They have carried ...us through all of life’s milestones and journeys. Some have carried one or more children. Miscarriages. trauma. weight loss and weight gain. Happy times and sad ones. Eat disorders. Abusive relationships. Surgery. GENETICS!!! The list goes on...Guys, why can’t we as a society praise one another for who they are on the inside and not judge those for their imperfections on the outside? . I can tell you one thing. When I photograph people I’m not looking at their body shape, their clothes, their hair and makeup... I’m looking at their energy and personality. I’m looking at the chemistry of my couples. Yes, you heard me... energy and chemistry!!! It’s the loudest, brightest, and most beautiful part of a person! . I don’t even see people’s flaws. Because what’s a flaw? Who decides that? Not me! My scars tells a story. Those dimples on my butt tell a story (that I like Leto cookies too much). The Freddy Krueger claw marks on my stomach show I am a super human and carried a child. And those stretch marks tell a story. I feel pretty blessed for for what my body is capable of. And so should everyone else. . It didn’t come easy to find happiness in these things... it’s a process. But I can tell you I am learning daily to love the skin I’m in. As it’s brought me to this very point in my life. It has carried me through 35 (almost 36) years. I’ve earned every mark, scar, lump and bump on my body. And I’ll probably get more as I get older. But I’m going to learn to accept myself as I am, push myself a little harder in areas that need improvement, and stop putting myself down more than I lift myself up. . You get one life! Love it! Love yourself! And INSPIRE those around you!! See more

My SIL is a goddess. That’s all!

can I just say I love ring shots? For this specific shot I actually took a mirror off the wall in the grooms room and set it on the ground under the market lights. Then had my assistant hold my light off to the side so you wouldn’t see my flash inside the mirror.... usually I take this shot during dinner... it’s a small break that allows me to get creative and take some unique shots of any and all details left to get before then night is over! Sometimes that’s the cake, sometimes the rings, sometimes even both! I get to take my time and give it 100% focus. This is my favorite little break of the night!

Merry Christmas friends! We never got around to taking photos this year because Yuki broke his ankle back in October. So photos of me and this cutie will have to do until we finally get a chance to go take photos! @weather_the_storm might think he dodged them, but happy birthday babe, photos are in January!!!! . . . But in all seriousness, merry Christmas to you all. I am truly so blessed to have you in my life! I hope this holiday is special just like you are. And I’m praying 2021 is a do over from the shenanigans of 2020!!!

Anxiety . I’ve dealt with it on and off since I was 18. I coped with it for nearly a decade w/o medication. At the age of 27 I left a 10 year relationship. Which left me lost. I didn’t know who I was anymore. I became temporarily depressed. My anxiety was through the roof. My friends had to pick me up off the floor- literally. . It was scary. ... It was dark. It was lonely. . But I had an amazing support system that helped pick up the broken pieces along the way. Eventually the days turned to weeks. Weeks turned to months. My attacks became few and far between. . Fast forward to 8 years later and the anxiety is still a quiet unwanted visitor. . My son is special needs. There, I finally said it. . It’s been a journey Full of road blocks. It’s a lonely road I feel I often have to walk alone. It’s a path that no one else will truly understand unless they have experienced it. Countless hours of therapy and appts. I do my best each day, but some days are harder than others. And although where we are today is night and day from when we started, it’s still a path that often feels daunting at times. At one point a year ago I let the worry consume me so much that I feared my son might never live a normal life. Would he ever go to regular school? Would he make friends? Will he be bullied? Will he ever go to prom, date, or have a family of his own?? I know I shouldn’t think like that, but I’m a planner. And I don’t like to feel like I have no control over my life. And when it comes to your child you want them to live a normal happy healthy life. And you know what? He is the happiest kid you will ever meet. But I still have that worry inside of me. . I will say this, accepting where my son is has made a huge difference. It doesn’t change the worry in my heart or the anxiety of each day. It has helped me cope with the loss of what I hoped motherhood would be. And I’m here to say Its OK to be sad. To worry. To have anxiety. It’s OK to not know what the future will look like. And it’s ok to mourn your experience at times. Just don’t live there forever. Pick yourself back up and know you were given this path for a very specific reason. Give yourself some grace Mama. Just a little something different to mix things up this holiday season!!! Halloween shoots are pretty much my favorite thing ever. I look forward to them each year and love taking the time to put together ideas and execute them as flawlessly as possible. This year was a little different than the usual Halloween sets I’ve done and I couldn’t have done it by myself that’s for sure. This shoot came out better than I could have imagined! Thank you @adventurousjnh for rallying up the most willing girls for this!! @mrs.meyers @laurenniicole @pm.medic I couldn’t have done it without you three!! You all were rockstars and committed 100%!!!! Bad ass babes for sure!!!!

There is nothing better than celebrating YOU! Boudoir doesn’t have to be complicated. You can wear whatever you want do whatever you want.Tthe only rule I have is that we have fun while making magic and art happen!! YOU deserve this! YOU deserve to honor your body. YOU ARE PERFECT. No matter what it has or hasn’t been through, it’s got you this far at least! And that’s worth celebrating!

So it’s been one of those days. I started writing my post this morning and never got to finishing it lol anyone else having one of those days?? Hahaha. Well read on if you want to read my drafted post from this morning . . . I’m sitting over here in line at Starbucks waiting for my coffee after my session this morning thinking how lucky I am that this is my job. My job makes my heart happy every single day. I get to create timeless images to last family’s a lifetime but even more importantly I have made some incredible friendships over the years. Blessed doesn’t even come close to describing how I feel when it comes to the lasting relationships I have made with those around me. Thank you for all your love and support over the years.
