Christmas was a great success in the shop and we thank all our wonderful customers for helping us raise money for Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford. Over the week-end, the shop has been changed into spring with many new products for the home, children's gifts, and hand-crafted items by local artisans. New vintage merchandise will arrive the 2nd week of January.

Tomorrow from 10-4 is Christmas Market at Allied Arts Guild in Menlo Park, 75 Arbor Road at Cambridge. A beautiful and rewarding way to spend the day with your friends, family, or on your own. It will be chilly, but mostly dry. In the Sunset Room you'll have the opportunity to browse the work of many artisans from clothing knitted on an artisan's machine to mosaic art to origami jewelry. There will be Indian spice kits to sample as well as toffee. Children's Health Council ha...s been busy crafting pillows, doing needlepoint, sewing aprons, and much more. There is a glass artist, jewelers, knits to wear in several ways. Santa visits 12-1 for the little ones. The Senior Veterans Memorial choir sings around 11:30 in the Sunset Room. Simply Jazz plays there from 1-3. You can register to enter drawings for gift certificates at the 14 shops plus they'll have treats or little gifts for you. Enter the mini-tree auction which raises money for "Creating Smiles" at Packard hospital. No admission fee and free parking plus 3.5 acres of lovely gardens. See more

I want to thank the community for making Christmas Market at Allied Arts Guild in Menlo Park a success. The Merlot Notes who sang were at their best, Santa was generous to children and adults alike, Simply Jazz livened up the Sunset Room with its twelve vendors selling crafts. All the pre-decorated artificial Christmas trees sold well, the Blue Garden Cafe served delicious food not only in the restaurant, but as a Grab and Go, plus a pizza oven which fired up and served out c...ustom-ordered pizzas. The cafe donated the fabulous cookies, cocoa, cider, tea, coffee, and cold drinks available on the grounds. Most of the winners of the drawings for gifts and certificates provided by the Allied Arts Guild shops have been contacted. Thanks to the shops for being so generous with not only prizes, but treats for visitors. Next year this free event will be held Saturday, December 1st.
