Hello dear readers (and you all really are dear to me! I appreciate the time you spend reading our stuff so much!). Quick update! I accidentally blew up Art-Eater.com from the backend while updating the security settings. We are working to get it back online. The site is not down permanently. We intend to post new stuff in the near future. In the meantime I've found that we've had a lot of success posting our art analysis to Twitter. Here are some animation breakdowns I rece...ntly did on Street Fighter III. I hope you enjoy them! https://twitter.com/Richmond_Lee/status/799651159115866112 Follow us on Twitter for more updates! If you'd like to see more activity on Facebook (I am considering posting informative posts here too), please let us know!

Happy International Women's Day! Here's our piece on some of the most influential (and awesome!) women in the Japanese games industry: http://art-eater.com//the-women-that-make-japans-games-in/ I'm often surprised at how few people in the English speaking world (especially the media) know about these women and their contributions to games. Let's help spread the word on these ladies who made some of the best games ever (Final Fantasy, Street Fighter 2, Castlevania Symphony of the Night, Streets of Rage 2, Xenogears ... the list goes on!) #IWD2016

Here's a fun followup to the article we wrote on Metal Gear and Native American History. We were inspired by the responses we got to look into Navajo mythology and found some interesting similarities between Big Boss and the legendary horned "big snake". In the first MGS, Vulcan Raven gives Snake a lesson in the symbolism of snakes in various Native American cultures. Maybe Code Talker will give Big Boss a mythology lesson in The Phantom Pain too!
