From Mayor Eric Garcetti: Face Coverings: We are now recommending that when we go out in the public or are interacting with the public, we use non-medical grade masks or facial coverings. When we look at some of the places around the world with slower rates of spread (such as the Czech Republic, Taiwan, and South Korea), it is clear that attacking COVID-19 depends on not spreading respiratory droplets 2 types of people when it comes to facial coverings: 1) Frontline healthcare... workers -- we are working with FEMA to secure the top of the line equipment (N95 masks, face shields, gowns etc.). 2) The rest of us. We need to protect the grocery, food service and other workers when we interact with them. When we go out and interact with others, we should wear homemade face coverings. Don’t use medical-grade N95 masks; they must be reserved for medical personnel and first responders. On Tuesday, CDC changed the period of exposure risk for COVID 19; Now if you test positive for COVID-19, you must notify everyone who has been around you at any time 2 DAYS before you became symptomatic to the present so that they can isolate themselves.
