A little baseball humor to lighten up the stress the pandemic has put on all of us. We coaches and players are missing being on the field!

Arroyo High School Baseball 02.11.2020

UPDATE: CIF/NCS has set sports for this upcoming school season. Due to the pandemic all 3 sports season (fall, winter and spring) will be played from January till to June. Baseball start/ tryout date is March 15th. With that being said and the uncertainty of when kids will be allowed back on campus. I would like to send a recommendation to all incoming freshmen, current arroyo students and returning baseball players. With no concrete answer on when off-season workouts will st...art, it will be very important for you to condition and do baseball related activities on your own. This will give a greater chance to be physically ready to give it your best shot during tryouts. As soon as I can get the boys in a weight room, batting cage and baseball field again this will be the first place to get that info. I hope everyone continues to be safe during these tough times and can’t wait to get back to the game we all love!!! -Coach Bromstead See more

Arroyo baseball would like to congratulate Arroyo Softball superstar alumni Chelsea Spencer @chelbug2 on being hired as the new head softball coach @calsb. I’m sure her nephews and current arroyo baseball players Connor and Kyle McCarthy are excited to have her back home. #welcomehome

Noah Amaral- 3 year Varsity lettermen who played 2nd base and pitched for the Dons. Noah has been the heart of the Dons lineup that last few years along with his dominance on the bump. Noah has piled on the accolades while bearing the Dons across his chest. NCS champ freshmen year, 2nd team all league his sophomore year, 1st team all league his Jr year, League champion starting and winning pitcher (CG) and 2020 CCBA Senior all state team. This senior campaign being cut short... was a blow to Noah dreams of becoming player of year as he was to be a dual threat on the bump and at the plate this season for the Dons. Noah is going to continue his baseball journey @ohlone_baseball, in hopes of earning a D1 scholarship from there. The coaching staff would like to thank you for all you have done these past 4 years Noah. Best of luck in your next baseball chapter. Josh Valenzuela- A 3 year letterman that held it down behind the dish. Josh was a special talent at the catcher position. Without his superior defensive skills and knowledge behind the dish the Dons would not have found as much success as they did. In his senior campaign he would have continued to dominate at the position and was on track to be a senior leader that would have led us to back to back league titles. I believe he would have finally got acknowledged for his talent... with a 1st-team all league nomination as well. Josh you know you have always been a special kid to me and my family, Kai said she will miss her brother Josh. The coaching staff would like to thank you for all you done and the headaches lol, good luck at Ohlone and we know you will find success in this game we all love. Mathew Jensen-Vallar- A 3 year varsity lettermen who was and utility Infielder and savior on the mound. We like to call Mathew the rubber arm. This kid loved being on the mound and would pitch every inning of every game if he was allowed to. He just loved to compete on the bump and was a ball of fire. Mathew is wise beyond his years, he defiantly challenged me as a coach but it made me a better coach cause of it. I will miss our conversation about life during practices and ...that mischievous smile. In his senior campaign he would have been what he loved to be that guy on the bump that would eat innings and get us out of jams. Mathew has made a huge commitment in protecting this country and will be leaving for Army boot camp in July. The coaching staff will like to thank you and good luck in your journey in in becoming a Army soldier kid!! C/O 2020 #thelostseason#arroyobaseball#onceadonalwaysadon See more

Victor El Caballo Hernandez- A 3 year Varsity Lettermen who played right field and pitched for the Dons. Victor was essentials to the Dons success as he anchored down right field, anyone that has played right at arroyo knows it isn’t a easy task with the wind. It also helped he had a lazer of an arm out there. His senior campaign being cut short really hurts cause Victor put in a lot of extra work this off-season and it was showing early on in all aspects of his game. Victor skills on the field will be missed but what will be missed as well is his personality. This kid will keep you on your toes and may have the best one liners around!! Vic the coaching staff thanks you for all you have done on and off the field, good luck with your chapter kid. C/O 2020 #thelostseason#arroyobaseball#onceadonalwaysadon

Enrique Chino Batz- A 2 year varsity lettermen utility player for the Dons. Enrique is the type of player every coach wants on his team. No matter what you asked of him, he was there giving it his all. The success the Dons had could not have been had without Enrique. His commitment to his teammates and the vision of his coaches was true display of his character and what a great young men his parents raised. Enrique’s senior campaign was going to continue being the glue that held the Dons together and he is surely going to be missed. The coaches would like to thank you and good luck on your next chapter Chino!! C/O 2020 #thelostseason#arroyobaseball#onceadonalwaysadon

Arroyo High School Baseball 15.08.2020

Adrian Enriquez- A 2 year Varsity lettermen that patrolled the outfield for the Dons. Adrian may have said a total of 10 words in 4 years in the program, but the lack of words was definitely not portrayed in how he handled himself on the field. Adrian came in day in and day out and gave it everything he had no matter if it was practice or game time. In his senior campaign that was cut short, Adrian was the starting Centerfielder for the Dons this Season. As a Don he was able to win 2 league titles and was a part of the first ever NCS championship in Arroyo history. The coaches would like to thank you for all you have given and good luck in your next chapter. C/O 2020 #thelostseaon#arroyobaseball#onceadonalwaysadon

Arroyo High School Baseball 12.08.2020

Matt Marquez- He might have started out a Rebel but he immediately made an impact and fit right in with Dons winning ways. Matt is a 2 year Varsity lettermen. In his Jr campaign he was essential in the middle of the lineup and holding it down at 1st base. His contributions most definitely helped the Dons capture the league title last season. It’s unfortunate Matt’s senior year got cut short, as he was leading the Dons in hitting and on track for huge offensive season. Matt the coaching staff would like to thank you for your hard work and dedication. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for you as start your next chapter in life. I know this isn’t a big positive with all that’s going on with the seniors and their graduations but hey we will still be defending league champs next season.
