June 2, 2020 celebrates the 10th Anniversary of the dedication of the Leo Politi Garden. Please enjoy these photos marking the progress of the garden over the past ten years!
In a previous post, we shared photos of President Castro and Mary Castro reading in the Arne Nixon Center. Please enjoy this video of President Castro reading to Sunset Elementary School.
Last month President Castro and Mary Castro were invited by Sunset Elementary School in Coalinga to do a YouTube reading and offer words of encouragement to their students. The Castros chose the Arne Nixon Center as the setting for their reading and even read a poem from ANC friend, Margarita Engle. Stay tuned for the YouTube videos!
Today is the one year anniversary of the completion and celebration of the Arne Nixon Center "Maybe Something Beautiful Community Mural" with illustrator and ANC friend, Rafael Lopez. This mural had been in the works for a few years and now we are so happy to look back on this journey. Please enjoy just a few of the many, many photos that were taken during the week-long progress from start to finish. Did you get to take part in the community mural? We would love to hear y...our favorite part of being involved. To learn more about the mural, please visit ancmural.org. The mural itself can be found on the corner of Cedar and Tulare Avenues in Fresno, Ca. Thank you, again, for your support during this project. Look what we did! #ancmural

Enjoy this virtual tour of the Leo Politi Garden by the Henry Madden Library. A little oasis on the Fresno State campus.
May the Fourth be with you! The Center is closed, but it looks like Koko is celebrating Star Wars day without us! Or maybe it's just a Jedi mind trick...

They have been great co-workers! They really like to camp out under the desk, they think they are helping. The Arne Nixon Center may be closed, but we are still working hard "behind the scenes".

Very sad to hear of the passing of Tomie dePaola. dePaola holds a special place in our hearts and in children's literature. The Center is fortunate to have a Strega Nona illustration that was given to Arne.
Please read this post from the Henry Madden Library to see how we are operating during COVID-19. The Arne Nixon Center itself is closed during this time, but staff are working remotely and still available for your questions. Please email [email protected] for any assistance, we are here for you during these trying times!
What a wonderful idea, Rafael! Thank you for sharing your fantastic art and collaboration with Margarita Engle.
