Way to go, Mahonia! We are excited to announce that our 34,000sf mixed use project, featuring straw bale insulation with clay plaster for all of the offices, extensive renewable energy, innovative stormwater systems, and loads of upcyling, received a Sustainable Commendation from the AIA East Bay. Special shout out to Jeff Day project managing from the office, and to the YW2 team on the ground in Eugene making it all happen. A lot of love in that building!

Friends and Architecture Fans - ATA's Mahonia Building, featuring strawbale insulated walls and many other cool sustainable features, is a finalist and thus eligible for the AIA East Bay's People's Choice Award, with voting commencing during the presentation on Thursday evening, Nov. 12, 6:30 PM PST. You have to register (it's free) and be online during the show to vote. Hoping some of you can join and support Mahonia, or your favorite. The link below shows all the entries and has a button to regiter; our project is the very last. Thanks! https://aiaeb.org/peoples-choice-for-design-excellence/

Nice to receive some good news amidst the devastating wildfires. ATA's Hood Mountain Homeone of the strawbale plans we make available to fire victimshas survived AGAIN (pic is from the Oct. 2017 Pythian Fire). This was the first home we designed to WUI (wildland urban interface) fire safe standards.

Please help our two amazing clients recover from recent fires - both are engaged in farming advocacy and education, as well actively promoting sustainable building. Both Soul Food Farm in Fairfield and Pie Ranch in Pescadero sustained major fire damage and need your support: please give as generously as you are able. https://www.pieranch.org/take-action https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-soul-food-farm-lnu-complex-
