There's no getting around it: detox and the withdrawal that comes with it is very difficult and uncomfortable. But it is worth going through to get clean. Here are five ways to stay positive and stay on track. https://bddy.me/311s4cy

If you haven’t listened to @daxshepard talk about his recent relapse with pain meds, we hope you do so. What struck us was how quickly Dax’s life shifted from being fully connected to one of isolation and deception. We are so thankful that he has made his way back and is resetting the clock on his sobriety, where he once again has found unconditional love, acceptance and support. https://bddy.me/3cCDIzn

Today, in celebration of #RecoveryMonth2020, we share with you Daniel M’s power testament to his recovery. For more stories of hope and recovery, visit: https://discoverybehavioralhealth.com/recovery/ --- There are plenty of reasons I can find for taking a drink or getting high one more time. I have made a sport of this all my life. I have found the most pristine excuse for my behavior, and gone to sleep as a baby would. The point at which I came to find my new life was the ...point when I realized that my talent for making a case was my greatest handicap in obtaining recovery. The great lawyer had finally been realized to be obsolete, the moment of defeat was upon me and that was the moment of my re-birth. I was made again, and that started with me being helpless, then I began to crawl, and then to walk. This is how I view my recoverycompletely re-learning simple tasks, but instead of crawling and walking and eating, it was calling first and checking my thoughts and behaviors before acting on impulse. As the reading says, I need to never forget this. We are all connected. We are designed to live together, work together, to stay connected. The fellowship is the family. The book is the guidance. the sponsorship is my work and purpose. The spirituality is my power source.

53% of adults reported in mid-July that their mental health wellbeing has decreased due to coronavirus concerns vs. 32% in March. This is one of the most comprehensive articles we’ve seen about the impact of the pandemic on mental health and substance use on adults, teens and frontline workers. All of the reports cited point to the same conclusion: individuals are struggling more and access to behavioral health treatment is essential. https://bit.ly/327ykk7
