Real believing..... Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. (John 20:3031) You can read every fairy tale that was ever written, every mystery thriller, every science-fiction fantasy, every ghost story, and you will never find anything so shocking, so strange, so weird and s...pellbinding as the story of the incarnation of the Son of God. And here’s the kicker! Jesus did more than could possibly have been written in the Bible: Jesus also did many other things. If they were all written down, I suppose the whole world could not contain the books that would be written. (John 21:25) The space thrillers of our day, like Star Wars, The Matrix, and Terminator can do this great good for us: they can humble us and bring us to a type of repentance, by showing us that we really are capable of some of the wonder and awe and amazement that we so seldom feel when we contemplate the eternal God and the cosmic Christ and a real living contact between them and us in Jesus. God’s story is far more miraculous, amazing, and awe inspiring when you fully digest its true meaning and implications for the entire planet. When Jesus said, For this I have come into the world, he said something as crazy and weird and strange and eerie as any statement in science fiction that you have ever read. Think about this: God sent a piece of himself into the world in human form as Jesus. He was both fully God and fully man. He lived among us, walked among us, talked with us, and taught us about God’s love. He performed miracles and raised people from the dead. And then he was tempted, tortured, and crucified. But He defeated death on the cross and rose again so that we might have new life through Him and in Him. He now sits on His throne at the right hand of God preparing a place for us in heaven! One of these days lightning is going to fill the sky from the rising of the sun to its setting, and there is going to appear in the clouds The One with His mighty angels in flaming fire. And we will see Him clearly. And whether from terror or sheer excitement, we will tremble and we will wonder how we ever lived so long with such a domesticated, harmless idea of Christ. These things are written that you might believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who came into the world... Really believe. Let’s pray... Dear God, I am sorry that the stories men have made up can often times stir my emotions, my awe and wonder and admiration and joy, more than Your own true story. Thank You for the gift of Your son, Jesus. Thank You for Your never ending grace, mercy, and love. Thank You for Your Holy Spirit who feeds us and enables us to have conscious contact with You. Lead us, guide us, draw us closer to You each day. In Jesus’ name, Amen

God’s peace..... I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world. (John 16:33) Contrary to popular belief, peace is not attained by manipulating our circumstances. People think that if they could just rearrange their situationfind a new job, overcome depression, stop a spouse from filing for divorcethen life would be wonderful. But that kind of self-reliance... is both misleading and unbiblical. We might arrive at a temporary calm, but fixing a problem outside of the Lord’s will won’t provide lasting peace. The truth is, God’s peace is available no matter how painful and hopeless your situation seems. A tranquil heart comes from trusting Him. Though warning that believers would have trouble on this earth, Jesus assures us that He has overcome the world. In other words, we can have peace in the midst of our trials because the Lord walks alongside us. Our relationship with Christ provides all we need to face difficultyincluding courage, wisdom, guidance, and comfort. You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! (Isaiah 26:3) Jesus promised peace for those who trust in Him, and He delivers on His promises. Our part is to take one day at a time and believe that He will carry us through. Our Father wants to see us demonstrate faith; we can depend on Him to meet our needs and bestow the divine peace that surpasses all comprehension..... Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)

The flood..... The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1 ESV) There was a religious man who lived by a river. One day a sheriffs deputy came by and said to him, There’s a flood coming. You want to get to higher ground. The man replied, Thank you officer, but I trust in the Lord. He will save me.... The river began to rise and soon the man’s house was surrounded by water. A couple of firemen in a boat rowed up to the house and said, Get in we’ll take you to safety! The man called to them, Thanks for coming out here. I’m trusting in the Lord. He will save me. Not long after that the water came up to the roof of the house. As the man sat on his roof, a helicopter flew over and a national guardsman called over a speaker, We’ll throw down a line and save you! Thank You! the man yelled back, But I trust in the Lord, he will save me! As the helicopter flew away, the house collapsed and the man drowned. The man entered the Gates of Heaven and stood before the Lord. Lord he said, I trusted in you to save me and you let me down! How could you do that? The Lord looked down, smiled, shook his head and said I sent the police, a boat, and a helicopter... What more do you want? As contradictory as it seems, at times we may ask for a sign, not because we want to discover God’s will, but because we do not like what He has already revealed. The Bible says, So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom. (Psalm 90:12) What does it mean to number our days? It’s not the ability to count how many days we have lived or to predict how many days we have left. Numbering our days means realizing the shortness of life. It means knowing that we only have so many days on this earth, and therefore we must seize the day, living each moment to the fullest. Let’s pray... Dear Lord, thank you for the gift of life. Thank you for the days you have given me. Thank you for the chance to live with purpose each day, to serve you in every facet of my life. I do need you to teach me to number my days. I don’t want to waste one moment of my life. I want to experience all that life has to offer and to offer all that I am to you. So please teach me to number my days that I might grow in wisdom and so that I might live each day in the best possible way. To you be all the glory forever! Amen

What is unity? I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. (John 16:33 NIV) Immediately after Jesus spoke those words, He prayed for the future Church to be united, just as He and the Father were, that way the world would know Him, I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one I in them and you in meso that they may be brought to co...mplete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. (John 17:22-23 NIV) Unity means to be joined in purpose and passion, and involves exchanging our will for God’s will. Even though unity is difficult, Jesus seemed to believe it was necessary if the world was going to know Him. When we cultivate unity in the body of Christ, we acknowledge that Jesus is in control and that His grace is sufficient to cover both our weaknesses and our differences. Today let’s seek God’s heart and ask Him to draw His Church together as one, so that the world will believe in the One that God sent to unite us all. Let’s pray... Dear God, Thank You for overcoming the world. Because of that, we can experience unity with You. And because we can be unified with You, we can experience unity with each other. It’s by You all things are held together. As we seek to center our lives around You, help us to see all the ways You are at work in the world. Draw us closer to Your heart so that we begin to see each other the way You see us and encourage us to look out not only for our own interests, but also for the interests of others. Amen

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16) For many people, Christmas is a time of sorrow. They don't have the extra money to buy presents for their children, family, and friends. Many are saddened at Christmastime when they think of their loved ones who will not be able to come home for various reasons. Holiday gatherings and dinners may be only a wish and not a reality f...or some. Yet, Christmas can be a season of great joy. It is a time of God showing His great love for us. It can be a time of healing and renewed strength. Christmas is when we celebrate the birth of Christ. God sent His Son into the world to be born. His birth brought great joy to the world. Shepherds, wise men, and angels all shared in the excitement of knowing about this great event. They knew this was no ordinary baby. The prophets had told of His coming hundreds of years before. The star stopped over Bethlehem just to mark the way for those who were looking for this special child. Then the angel said to them, Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!(Luke 2:10-14) Why did God send His son to this sometimes cruel and hardened world? Jesus was born so that one day the price could be paid for the things we have done that are wrong. The Bible says that all have sinned. We are all born with a sin nature. We do things that do not please God. We need to have that removed. The only way is through Jesus. Jesus came so He could die on the cross for ALL of our sins. If we believe that Jesus died for our sins, we can ask Him to come into our hearts and forgive us. Then, we are clean and made whole. We can know that heaven is a place where we go when this life is over. The Bible says, If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (I John 1:8-9) We can find joy and peace this Christmas! No matter what may be happening, we can know that we are God’s children. When we turn our lives over to Jesus we become sons and daughters of God. Heaven will be our home one day. Jesus said, "I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly." (John 10:10) Look at Christmas in a new way this year. This is the year to accept God’s gift and invite Jesus into your heart and surrender your will to Him. The joy and peace you receive will grow as you look to God to meet all of your needs.

You are not alone..... But when Peter saw how strong the wind was, he was afraid and started sinking. Save me, Lord! he shouted. (Matthew 14:30) Peter stepped out of the boat and walked on the water next to Jesus. But after a while, the storm grew stronger and, overwhelmed by a situation he couldn’t control, Peter began to sink. Immediately, Jesus saves Peter. But then He asks one question: O you of little faith, why did you doubt? (Matthew 14:31)... When storms in life happen, it’s easy to act like Peter. We can become so overwhelmed by fear and fixated on the problems around us that we lose sight of our Savior standing beside us. But even when hope seems lost, Jesus is near. His constant presence is our confident assurance that during life’s storms, God is, and always will be, in control. The Bible says, Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:2) Whatever you’re going through right now, be encouraged by this thought: Jesus is your anchor, He is able to do the impossible, and He will not let you drown. Hold onto hope by fixing your eyes on Him.

But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel after those days, says the Lord. I will put my instructions deep within them, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. And they will not need to teach their neighbors, nor will they need to teach their relatives, saying, ‘You should know the Lord.’ For everyone, from the least to the greatest, will know me already, says the Lord. And I will forgive their wick...edness, and I will never again remember their sins. (Jeremiah 31:33-34) God is just and holy and separated from sinners like us. This is our main problem at Christmas and every other season. How can we get right with a just and holy God? But God is merciful, and He promised in Jeremiah 31 (five hundred years before Christ) that someday He would do something new. He would replace shadows with the Reality of the Messiah. He would powerfully move into our lives and write His will on our hearts so that we are not constrained from outside but are willing from inside to love Him and trust Him and follow Him. If God should offer us the greatest Reality in the universe to enjoy and then move in us to see to it that we could enjoy it with the greatest freedom and joy possible. That would be a Christmas gift worth singing about. That is, in fact, what He promised. But there was a huge obstacle.... Our sin. Our separation from God because of our unrighteousness. How can a holy and just God treat us sinners with so much kindness as to give us the greatest Reality in the universe (His Son) to enjoy with the greatest joy possible? The answer is that God put our sins on His Son, and judged them there, so that He could put them out of His mind, and deal with us mercifully and remain just and holy at the same time. The Bible says, Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for Him. (Hebrews 9:28) Jesus bore our sins in His own body when He died. He took our judgment. He canceled our guilt. Our sins are gone. They do not remain in God’s mind as a basis for condemnation. In that sense, He forgets them. They are consumed in the death of Christ. God says, For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more. (Hebrews 8:12) This means that God is now free, in His justice, to lavish us with the new covenant. He gives us Jesus, the greatest Reality in the universe, for our enjoyment. And He writes His own will on our hearts so that we can love Christ and trust Christ and follow Christ from the inside out, with freedom and joy.... that’s how much God loves us and that’s what Christmas is all about!

Where does God fit in your life? Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. (Matthew 6:33) We all have a tendency to seek out everything imaginable and put ourselves before God - our selfish desires - and all of them last only for a little while. We can shop and buy all we want, we can take one vacation after another, we can chase one career after another, we can do this and we can do that, but we will still be e...mpty and find ourselves still wanting more and more. Until we put God first in our lives, we will never be satisfied. We must always remember that everything we have ultimately belongs to God. He created everything and so everything is His. The Bible says, the earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it. (1 Corinthians 10:2) And we are also reminded that, my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19) So when we talk about seeking God, giving to God, or doing the work of God, we must remember that it is all His. He doesn't need our gifts to do his work. On the other hand, we do need to share the blessings he has entrusted to us. What we have isn't really ours; it's all His, given to us to be put into useful service to others for God's work and God's glory. Jeremiah 17:7 says, "But blessed are those who trust in the LORD and have made the LORD their hope and confidence. Let’s pray... Dear God, Thank you for the many blessings you have given to us, and continue to gift to us, as you fulfill all of our needs through Jesus. Everything we have is yours, Lord. Please help us to seek you first and put you first in every aspect of our lives. Please be with us as we seek to be faithful stewards of all your wonderful gifts. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Time’s a wastin’..... You groped your way through that murk once, but no longer. You’re out in the open now. The bright light of Christ makes your way plain. So no more stumbling around. Get on with it! The good, the right, the truethese are the actions appropriate for daylight hours. Figure out what will please Christ, and then do it. Don’t waste your time on useless work, mere busywork, the barren pursuits of darkness. Expose these things for the sham they are. It’s a sca...ndal when people waste their lives on things they must do in the darkness where no one will see. Rip the cover off those frauds and see how attractive they look in the light of Christ. Wake up from your sleep, Climb out of your coffins; Christ will show you the light! So watch your step. Use your head. Make the most of every chance you get. These are desperate times! Don’t live carelessly, unthinkingly. Make sure you understand what the Master wants. (Ephesians 5:8-17 MSG) Noah, Abraham, Moses... they all listened to God and did not waste time doing what He told them to do. Yes, they may have argued their point and perhaps, at first, disagreed with God, but ultimately they willingly followed His instructions and obeyed. They did the right thing because it was the right thing to do. Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. (Hebrews 10:23-24 NLT) God wants us to do good, to do what’s good, and that’s not hard to figure out most of the time. Serve Him by doing what is right. Time is wasting... don’t waste your time!

singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts. And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5:19-20

Fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom. Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment. Wisdom will multiply your days and add years to your life. If you become wise, you will be the one to benefit. If you scorn wisdom, you will be the one to suffer. (Proverbs 9:10-12 NLT) When we apply the Bible to our lives and walk in the wisdom of God, we are promised certain blessings. Verse 11 above states two of those blessings. When we follow the Lord, "our days wi...ll be multiplied" or in other words, our days will be more profitable. It is amazing what we can do in one day, when we give everything to God. We are able to accomplish things that would be impossible without the Lord's help and strength. Our priorities will be focused on the things of God, therefore each day will bear much fruit for the Kingdom of God. The other blessing is that the years of our lives will be fruitful. Many people look back over their lives in remorse, as they regretfully feel their lives have been wasted and they have nothing to show for it. If we are wise and follow the Lord, we will not find ourselves in that state. If we serve the Lord on this earth, when it is time to meet Him at the end of our lives, we can look forward to the Him greeting us with these words: The master said, ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!’ (Matthew 25:23) Verse 12 above tells us that wisdom has its own reward, and if we scorn wisdom we will only hurt ourselves. God created us with a free will and He will not force us to make the right decisions. What we do with our lives is our own choice. If we ignore God and His wisdom, we will suffer the consequences because we reap what we sow. However, if we surrender to the will of God, and ask for His help to lead a righteous life that is full of wisdom, He will grant our request if we totally commit to Him. When we follow and obey God we will also be blessed and receive the promises that are given to us in the Bible. Let’s pray... Dear Heavenly Father, Our greatest wealth is having Your blessings. You give us so many things that the world does not have. As Your children, we are promised peace in the storm, provision when we have nothing, love for those who persecute us, joy in the face of grief, forgiveness for our sins and life in eternity with You. Today, I am grateful for all of Your blessings. Help me to be a blessing to those around me and to remain strong in the faith for all things I am believing in You. Thank you for saving me; in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Thank you..... So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do. Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts. And give thanks for everything to God the Father ...in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 5:15-20 NLT) Thanking God every morning for the gifts in our life is an act of worship to the Lord that requires self-discipline. Some things aren’t easy to give thanks for. But as we count our blessings, we realize how many blessings there are to count. Ephesians 5 tell us we can be filled with the Lord in our spirit by giving thanks. Besides the many specific things in our lives we can thank God for, we can also thank Him for who He is to us and what He does for us, as revealed in the Bible... Thank You, Lord, for being my life. Jesus, thank You for loving me and saving me. Lord, thank You for living in me and being in me always. Thank You, Jesus, for being the bread of life to me. Jesus says, At that time you won’t need to ask me for anything. I tell you the truth, you will ask the Father directly, and he will grant your request because you use my name. (John 16:23 NLT) We ask in the name of Jesus, and we give thanks in the name of Jesus. The same name we pray in, we also give thanks in... Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. (1 Chronicles 16:34 NLT) What gift that is moving you to be thankful to Jesus today?

Archibald Ranch Community Church 06.07.2020

Let your heart therefore be wholly true to the Lord our God, walking in his statutes and keeping his commandments, as at this day. (1 Kings 8:61 ESV) When we give our hearts over to God, we are able to follow Him automatically and more powerfully. We are able to accomplish things for God’s glory and overcome temptations that might have otherwise been impossible.... For this reason, it is so important to love God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength... this isn’t always easy to do. Perhaps we are going through a difficult time in our lives, or maybe we are distracted by the material aspects of the world. How can we motivate ourselves to love God powerfully and continually? The answer is to seek out inspiration. Daily prayer, meditation, and reading God‘s word will give us spiritual inspiration and a better understanding of God‘s will for our lives.Additionally, listening to our favorite worship music, taking a walk in nature, or following one of our favorite spiritual leaders helps inspire our love for God. Let’s get in the habit of filling ourselves up with daily inspiration. Give your heart over fully to God, no holds barred. When we do, we will see that we can do things we thought we couldn’t do and accomplish goals we thought unattainable. Nothing is impossible when we’ve given our hearts to God!!!

Archibald Ranch Community Church 24.06.2020

Hold fast..... I look up to the mountains does my help come from there? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth! He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber. Indeed, he who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps. The Lord himself watches over you! The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade. The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon at night. The Lord keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. The Lor...d keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever. (Psalm 121) There’s so much in this life we can start to feel anxious about, even when we know Truth and believe that God is in control. It can still be a daily battle in our hearts, in our minds. What do you find yourself holding onto most often? What is your source of security, reassurance, hope, and stability in times of trouble? What do you encourage folks to do and who do you encourage them to hold onto during times of trouble? Fear the LORD your God and serve him. Hold fast to him... Deuteronomy 10:20 Let’s pray... Dear God, please be with everyone who is undergoing great trials and temptations. Use me to bless them and encourage them. Please uphold them by your powerful hand. Finally, dear Father, strengthen and empower them to hold on to you. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Archibald Ranch Community Church 07.06.2020

Hold that thought..... Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires. So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls. (James 1:19-21) We are constantly filling our world with noise. If it’s not the sound of our own voices, then we turn up som...e other noise to fill the silence. With the amount of news broadcasts, talk shows, and opinion based editorials, we are even given the opportunity to sound off to that noise. When we are cut off, talked over, or adamantly disagree with someone else, we are prone to voice our displeasure. Unfortunately, we often can say things that are harmful, hurtful, or foolish. God's wisdom reminds us to learn to hold our tongue and let silence rule over more of our time rather than the noisy words that so often clutter our thoughts and actions. When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise. (Proverbs 10:19) Let’s all strive to hear and not be heard, listen and not lecture, and silence some of the noise in our lives. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer. (Psalms 19:14) Let’s pray... Dear God, please give me wisdom to help me keep my mouth shut more often and my ears more attentive to the needs of others. Purify my heart and cleanse my speech so that my words will be helpful to others and bring glory to You. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

A new memory..... This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me. (1 Corinthians 11:25) The celebration of the Lord's Supper is one of the most significant things Christians do together. Whether we gather for Communion weekly or every few months, followers of Christ proclaim that only in Jesus can we hope to receive forgiveness and grace to live as He did. We do this to remember all that Jesus has done for us.... Thinking about the past is nothing new. But in the Lord's Supper, Jesus gives His people a gift that does more than let us look back and remember. By proclaiming His death each time we celebrate Communion, we also look forward and upward as we declare the ongoing power of Jesus' death for his people today and forever. As Paul wrote to the Corinthians: For I pass on to you what I received from the Lord himself. On the night when he was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and said, This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me. In the same way, he took the cup of wine after supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant between God and his peoplean agreement confirmed with my blood. Do this in remembrance of me as often as you drink it. For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are announcing the Lord’s death until he comes again. (1 Corinthians 11:23-26) Jesus offers us a new kind of memory. Our salvation begins in the past, at the cross. But Christ continues to nourish believers with His crucified body and shed blood. Just as a daily meal gives us strength for our physical life, the regular celebration of Jesus' death, and ultimate resurrection, nourishes the spiritual lives of all who have faith in Christ. Let’s pray... Lord, I remember Your words and Your life. I believe that You died for me. You gave up Your perfect life so that I could live. Never let me take for granted all that You have done for me. May Your death renew me for life with You today. Amen.
