If you are an LGBTQIA+ student of ARC, we want to hear about your experience! Please share with your LGBTQIA+ friends. American River College is currently engaged in the challenging work of redesigning and improving our college to better serve you. One group of students that has historically received little attention is the LGBTQIA+ community. We are thrilled to report that this year, there will be an LGBTQIA+ DI team looking at ways that American River College can better se...rve our queer and trans students. This work is focused strongly on intersectionality of identities and ensuring that we are centering voices within the community that have been historically underrepresented and marginalized in education and in LGBTQ movements, particularly focusing on the voices of people of color and those in the trans and non-binary communities. ALL student feedback is important to us and will be reviewed. However, students interested and selected for a follow up interview by the LGBTQIA+ DI Team will receive a $50 stipend. For transparency, this stipend will require a process of paperwork and will be paid within the 20-21 school year via check in the mail. There are only 18 follow up interview spots available and the LGBTQIA+ DI Team is committed to interviewing students across the LGBTQIA+ spectrum.
