Such a good question!!! @cynthiaarcasborghy, our founder, can tell you this story better Cynthia: One night I was in my backyard with my family, then I noticed a very shiny star in the sky. This Star lead me to the Ursa Minor constellation and Arcas is the name of the Little Dipper constellation, but it is also my last name. There is so many connections, we are eco-sustainable vegan shoes, represented by a Bear(another coincidence Bear is the symbol of California fla...g with a Star)our STAR is Polaris which is the biggest STAR in the constellation, responsible to give direction, where the true NORTH is when we get lost. Regarding to industrial practices including manufacturing shoes , almost all shoes they are made from leather(animal skin) or for sneakers, almost 100% made from fossil fuels. We loose the green perspective and the balance for products and respect for the environment. Regarding industrial practices those products will remain between 400-1000 years in the environment, causing pollution, contamination and death to animals and humans for so many generations. So a while ago when I was learning more and more about sustainability back in 2016 I found this star in the night sky that lead me to Arcas and immediately I felt that ARCAS BEAR was the name for the shoes. A way to walk on Earth having the head hooked up to the sky by remembering what the true NORTH is about, preserve LIFE, connections, balance and protection for the future generations for all living beings. - Que ótima pergunta !!! @cynthiaarcasborghy, nossa fundadora pode contar melhor essa linda história Cynthia: Uma noite, eu estava no meu quintal com minha família, até que eu notei uma estrela muito brilhante no céu. Esta estrela me levou à constelação da Ursa Menor que tem o nome de Arcas , assim como o meu sobrenome. Há muitas conexões nessa história, somos uma marca de sapatos veganos, eco-sustentáveis, representados por um "Urso" (outra coincidência, o Urso é o símbolo da bandeira da Califórnia com uma estrela), nossa estrela é "Polaris" que é a maior ESTRELA na constelação, responsável por dar direção, é o nosso verdadeiro NORT
