I am proud to be the daughter of an immigrant who, like my new friend Jimmy (pictured here), left everything familiar for hope of a better life. Jimmy immigrate...d to US from Egypt and dreamed of opening an autobody shop. He loves cars. He opened a shop, but rent was too high so he had to move to this new location and start over here in Inglewood. Now he’s rebuilding his business. I randomly found him via yelp, and am awestruck by the level of kindness, passion, and pride he has in his shop. On the phone, before we even met, he offered me his own car to drive around while he fixed mine. When I arrived, he brewed some Egyptian tea. I picked through the chocolates on his desk to find the gold-wrapped ones I love best, and when I got my car 2 days later, there were my favorite chocolates on the dash! Not to mention, my car looked great. He even made extra of the special paint in case I need it again. This is not an ad or anything at all, I just feel so inspired and moved by this man’s heart and story and the way in which he and his brother pour themselves into their work!!
