Aqua Fit

First day of our new earlier schedule - class starts at 8:15. Didn't mind a bit. The pool was warm and wonderful and our class size has increased making it even more fun!!!!

Today I tried the heavy (meaning more resistance) bars! It went well! Yay! I feel like a graduated to big girl bar bells! I see so many ways I've improved over my first attempts...so much more strength and flexibility. Today we had lots of people in the water and boy was the sun out! California dreamy!

Today I was thinking...how many FUN things we do in the water! To name a few...we bicycle, we jump over barrels on a bicycle (try that on dry land!), we do Charlie Chaplin legs (Tee Hee!), we become Helicopters, we jump over logs and we become Russian dancers. That and more, all the course of an hour...which finishes with wonderful water Pilates. Strengthening, and flexibility...that is what all this fun adds up to!

The sun was out, it was 62 degrees, a good crowd this am at Aqua Fit! That is the way to start the day! Makes the whole day go better!

The best part of my week! Aqua Fit in the morning...today the sun was out and the music was great. Cathy kept us moving to the tunes and we got a great workout in. Woo- Hoo!

Oooh! We started our day right... deep water aerobics and the sun shined down on us! I love it when the sun is shining and the music is helping us move with Cathy's promptings!

Deep water aerobics! So great for flexibility, toning and cardio conditioning. Yee Haw!

While we are doing our routine, the swimmers swim laps in the other part of the pool. A mom puts her baby in a removable car seat under the life guard station and proceeds with her swimming work out. The baby who is old enough to decide to pull the shade back does just that. I glance that direction to see the life guard has clambered down to reposition the sun shade keeping the babe sun free! That is a full service life guard!

As I was doing the routine at water aerobics today, I watched as several people came in the gate. I wondered... What do they see when they look at our class? As I looked around the answer was clear...SMILES!! This group genuinely enjoys this activity and our instructor! One knows when something is right....this is a great, great way to exercise!

Wow...I didn't update the page yesterday and missed telling you about the fantastic weather we are having! It was our own Diamond Jubilee in the water. The waves were sparkling in the sun and with all of us doing the moves to the music...what a celebration of movement and flexibility we had going on! It was fantastic!

Today as we were aerobicizing to Mamma Mia I thought, "Yes, this not only gets the kinks out of my back, it knocks the cobwebs out of my brain - awesome!"

I was having a conversation with a woman who has been coming to this class for 10 years...I like what she said. This is the place for people who are taking good care of themselves! I agree! The best thing I do for myself all week!
