Now that things have slowed down a bit, I've been thinking of better ways to backwash without making a giant mess. Get yourself some of these with a couple reducers and and other fittings, and keep an old vac hose with you. Those collapable ones are a pain in the dick to roll up every other pool. I also recommend glueing a threaded coupling onto your backwashes if needed ahead of time.
