Thankful for the first fresheners that have the kids all clean, dry and nursing before you realize they are there. Twin does to boot. WINNING!
Harvest is complete & there are lots of yummy kiwis in the cooler! our organic Kiwi are available through eatlocal.farm and at many local grocery stores.
2 more cuties,
Sharing this amazing photo taken by Emily Bondor while checking my bee hives yesterday. This is a picture of a frame showing all the different types of pollen the girls are collecting. The creamy white is from our kiwi trees, the 2 neon yellow nuggets in the center are from olive trees, I'm guessing the purple is from thistle, and a couple other colors from various flowers. Bees are truly wonderful.
Now adding more delightful soap to eatlocal.farm Same ingredients, just different shape.
Aptos Farm Kiwi & Goats Milk Soap. The fragrance is lovely now available from https://eatlocal.farm
Finally, babies are here! A single doeling from Chakra (aka Raffle) on the 18th, and triplets from Akasha yesterday.
* UPDATE* eatlocal.farm is up and running! Check it out, deliveries begin next week. UPDATE ** after a loooong anticipated wait, Chyanna graced us with quads! Now I know why she took so long. All healthy and nursing. 2 does, 2 bucks. As of 4/28...we are still waiting! 2 other does beat her to it. Come on, release the hostages already! Didn't she see schedule? Her due date was yesterday! Getting very excited for this years kidding season to begin. First up is Chyanna. One of my best does. She has the most beautiful Nubian head and ears. Pretty sure she has multiples!
And just like that, they leave the nest! All 5 are there, one is just hiding. It was such a joy this morning watching them learn how to fly.
4 years ago mama swallow built a nest on a wood beam in our goat shed. One day when I was feeding the goats, the nest fell to the ground. I cut out this milk jug and nailed it back in the same spot. Mama accepted this as her nest and has come back every year since to raise her babies. This is her second clutch this year. 5 this time ! I love the swallows. They eat so many insects and are so fun to watch.
I am available to catch swarms
Babies are here
Posting to honor these 3 noble boys. One of the best farm teams ever. Inside and out. Grateful that they allowed us to be their humans. Goofy, loving, noisy and stinky at times, you will be missed, but not forgotten.
Brand new boys. Less than 2 hours old.
