They walked their new kingdom with Phoenix pointing out all the sights. They saw some Warm Springs donkeys off on the hills and ...stood watching them. They met Goliath and his family at the back of their fence line and said hello. We added Blue Moon and the two mares were happy to be back together. It is beautiful for all of us to see them at each other’s sides, in perfect step together, Phoenix protective and proud. They got through a roundup, holding pens, being separated, losing friends and family and yet today here they are. Let’s all breathe and speak kindly to a friend and hug your family and stroke a beloved animal. I have been feeling anxious but we need to turn off the TV and get to nature and sit. Watch movies that inspire you and make you laugh and let’s be like Phoenix and Ghost - in awe and wonder at the sights around us and look for the little things that uplift us. We can get through this and out the other side and we shall. Finder crated this old guy in her garage last night with blankets and a cover. 3 coyotes came to the garage door wanting to snatch him up. Is there a foster or rescue who can see this guy through? Do not want to send him to the shelter. It’s just not fair at his age.

Dear Doss, You came into our lives like a wrecking ball back in May as our first foster. We never could have imagined how difficult that experience would be, but we also never knew how awful people could be to a sweet dog like you. It was a hard lesson to learn, but you forced us to learn it and we will be forever grateful to you for that. It has a...llowed us to help many more dogs much like you. Now you have been back with us since September and this time we were better equipped physically and mentally to give you what you need. We have seen you flourish with the structure, leadership, and compassion you have always desired. We have seen you learn to truly trust again, and for the first time in a long time we are starting to see you genuinely smile. It makes all of the hard work worth it. But we are not able to give you a forever home here, and that is what you need most now. You are an incredibly special dog. Although all dogs are a mirror to ourselves, you reflect back on people in a much more immediate and urgent way. You need someone who can love you through the hard times to earn the love you have to give in the good times - and trust me, that love is something worth earning because you love so fully and so passionately once you feel safe. I know the world is still a scary place for you sometimes, but I see you starting to find your place in it. I want you to find someone who can continue to guide you and open up more of the world for you. I want you to continue to become the confident and amazing dog you know you are. You deserve that and so much more. Thank you for teaching me and pushing me and waking me up. Thank you for loving me and trusting me. Thank you for helping me save the lives of other dogs like you.
