We would like to bark out a huge and heart felt thank you to DVM's Missy Achenbach and Michele Dulake along with the entire staff of The Pet Doctors of Sherman... Oaks AND amazing DVM John Angus and the staff at the Animal Dermatology Clinic Pasadena for all they do for us and our rescues. <3 Rambo looks and feels SO much better! RAMBO NEEDS YOUR HELP! Day 44 and still counting for this very grateful and loving fella who, while he continues to improve, still has a way to go! Our Rambo fund is almost depleted , please help us continue to help him on his road to recovery! No amount is too small and all amounts are tax deductible! #ZooCam! Ranger Kylie decided to treat our mob of Meerkats with some toilet rolls with lots of dirt and grass crammed into them. Meerkats love to forage for bug...s and grubs and today they had to work extra hard to get all the tightly stuffed grass out of the rolls in order to get to the treat-filled dirt clogs! All animals - especially Meerkats, naturally spend a lot of their day foraging for food, so we incorporate enrichment into their diet to encourage this behaviour. See more

Well our boy just finished up with the amazing and renowned DVM John Angus of the Animal Dermatology Clinic Pasadena! Rambo was so good and so sweet and allowed... the good Doc to scrape some skin for a cytology reading which came back confirming a severe case of Pemphigus Foliaceus and the worst case he or anyone else has ever seen upfront and personal :-( Now he also said that this could have been exasperated by possibly " home care treatment " AND he believes Rambo to be a German Shepard! I inquired as to why the biopsy reports all came back negative for it and he told me that if the dog was being treated it will mask the follicles! Now the good news is that our very own DVM Missy Achenbach of The Pet Doctors of Sherman Oaks has been treating him all along " as if" and DVM Angus gave her so many kudos and praises for the good work she has been doing in getting him this far! He will now be heading back to The Pet Doctors of Sherman Oaks for continued and on going care which will include a protocol of some new medicines and a host of blood tests and work ups etc etc! His hospital stay will be quite extensive for the next month or two till we can get him stable and on the right track! He is now heading back to the Pet Doctors and I am sure Rambo is going to be thrilled to see his new little family and the place he has lovingly called home for the last 30 days! We are going to need your help and will have estimates for his on going care which we will post later! He is so sweet and so loving and he knows he is so loved and this boy knows beyond a shadow of a doubt that his life matters <3 tw, LNPB
