Today's nugget of wisdom: Small acts of caring can go a long way. Happy weekend, family & friends!
The cold weather can suppress your senior loved one’s immune system. Thus, it increases their vulnerability to infections. Viral infections are easily transmitted and can be dangerous for the elderly and those with poor immune systems. Thus, we’ve listed some tips to prevent acquiring some common illnesses during this season.
As care providers, we are always thinking of things that senior clients can do during a particular time. Fall is about to end but, luckily, there are still many things to do these days that seniors can enjoy. We already posted tips for seniors' safety during this season, so you might want to check it out. Here, we have some fun fall activity ideas for them. 1. Visit a Local Pumpkin Patch... This is a great activity that seniors can surely enjoy! Visiting a local pumpkin patch is the best day trip idea for seniors to choose from pumpkin patches and observe pumpkin decorating stations. 2. Enjoy walking Walking is beneficial for one's physical and mental health. It can help reduce cardiovascular risks and lower blood sugar levels while improving mood. Also, the cool air is one of the reasons to go walking during this season. As a bonus, fall colors make beautiful scenery. 3. Make Fall Crafts We strongly suggest helping your senior family members hone their artistic skills by making fall crafts. They can design fall leaves and decorate some pumpkins. There is a lot more to do during this season, and, as usual, as your care providers, it is our duty to remind you to always put your safety and the safety of your senior loved ones first!
Wishing you all a spook-tacular Halloween!
Without a doubt, Halloween is a fun event! Here are some gentle reminders from your Angel Connection Nursing Services family to help keep your loved ones safe during your celebration.
