This won't affect most of you, but we've migrated the Andromedary Instinct website to a new hosting service. It looks slightly newer than when we registered the domain name in 2003, and is now accessible over https as well. https://andromedary.org/

We're migrating our website to a Wordpress-hosted site. While DNS propagates, check it out here.

We have a few things listed on Robert's eBay store right now. Whether you need a Marc New York by Andrew Marc duffel bag, some Soma or Victoria's Secret bras, or a 10GBase-T switch, you're sure to find something good. If you're local and interested in picking up in Sunnyvale, reach out to us through this page and we'll save the eBay fees and shipping costs. Everything is in hand in Sunnyvale, California, and friends of the store always get the best deals. https://www.ebay.com/str/rnovak-s-geekery-and-more

So we have some unmanaged 1/10 gig switches posted on eBay. Check them out! As usual, they're available for local sale, and shipping to friends of the store (at cost).

Got some cables, some bras, some laptops, and other items posted on eBay. Check them out!

Posting this weekend (if not sooner) - MiniDP to Display Port cables, USB-C to HDMI cables, and possibly a couple of 48-port gigabit switches with 10gbit or stacking modules.

So we got another batch of laptops in (mostly Dell 13/15" 2nd and 3rd gen i3/i5/i7, Windows 7 Professional, good batteries, 4GB RAM and 120-128GB SSD, upgradable). They're going for $200, except for the one a flea market attendee sent flying onto the pavement this morning. The flea market scratch-and-dent model still works but may need some molding pushed back into place, and will be $150. Also, an HP 2000 AMD E2-3000 system with Windows 8.1 and DVD-RAM drive (should be a b...urner too). Let us know if you're looking.

Our proprietor wrote about the closing of WeirdStuff Warehouse this past weekend. Andromedary Instinct originally started because the proprietor couldn't find geek stuff on Sundays. But life got in the way, and the business remained primarily online. If we opened on weekends this summer (and beyond), would you drop by and check out the inventory (and maybe buy some stuff)? ... https://rsts11.com//weird-stuff-warehouse-is-closing-this/

Those laptops we said we were going to list last week... well, they got delayed, but they should be coming in over the weekend or early next week. If you want a preview, or want to buy in person, Robert will have them available in Sunnyvale over the weekend. Here's the list so far.

We'll be posting a few laptops on eBay this week if all goes well. Too many projects unfinished (or even unstarted) and a lot of compute power that someone can probably use. Check us out, follow us, buy something nifty soon!

Welcome to 2018. We'll have some more servers for sale this month, including a 2U quad-Xeon with four 10GbE ports and LOTS of DIMM slots. Stay tuned, and let us know if there's anything in particular that you're looking for.

No Black Friday sales at Andromedary Instinct... but if you're looking for cases, servers, laptops, older desktops, cables, or the like, let us know and we can hook you up the same as any other day. Some "specials" (that have been around for a while, nothing new today) include: One of the Dual Xeon E5645 desktop workstations is getting a 48GB upgrade, $650 or best offer. ... Two Brocade Silkworm 4900 switches, credentials reset, ready to use in a lab or low-volume startup SAN, $100 each cash and carry. Various 2000s 1U rackmount servers (think Pentium 4 HT or thereabouts), price TBD, offers accepted.
