Pain can be helpful. Without pain, you might seriously hurt yourself without knowing it. Sometimes pain alerts you of a medical condition that would otherwise go unnoticed. Once you take care of the problem, the pain usually goes away. However, sometimes pain goes on for weeks, months, or even years. This is called chronic pain. Chronic pain can also cause low self-esteem, depression, and anger, and it can interfere with your daily activities. [ 805 more words ] https://andreasschwerte.com/recurring-pain-what-to-do-abou/

Anxiety, depression, and other emotional problems affect millions of Americans each year. Despite our advances in modern medicine, the number of Americans affected by mood disorders is increasing rather than decreasing. Recent months have placed a mental, physical, financial, and emotional toll on us to a degree as I have personally never seen before. And the most challenging aspect of this crisis is not only the uncertainty about the nature of the virus but also the uncertainty about our jobs, our social structures, our future. In the early 2000s I had rediscovered my profound interest in neuroendocrinology (NE). Specifically the NE of stress. This lead me to study functional medicine and incorporate this into my practice of traditional Chinese medicine. By 2006 I had ordered lab-tests for hundreds of patients to test for adrenal fatigue and thyroid disorders. For various reasons I also tested these patients for gluten and soy sensitivities and was surprised how many tested positive for one or the other. When it comes to weight training there are probably as many opinions as there are question marks around the issue of 'what works best'. Part of he answer is probably that different training strategies work differently for different people and different purposes, all adding to the fair amount of confusion. The article below does not provide an answer but is still interesting... https://nyti.ms/2N7vp5a

This is a great article by Moises Velasquez-Manoff published in the magazine science Nautilus. It's a brilliant overview of antioxidants in our bodies and why antioxidant supplements might not necessarily do what they promise. http://nautil.us//fruits-and-vegetables-are-trying-to-kill

Here's an interesting article on the gut microbiome. By now research has discovered that this mass of bacteria found primarily in our colon is not only responsible for proper digestion and assimilation of nutrients. It controls our immune systems, our emotions and character, helps protect us from obesity and diabetes, regulates inflammation, benefits our heart, and has a whole slew of other important health benefits. The microbiome pretty much influences our entire organism. The prevalence of antibiotics can make this challenging. https://www.nytimes.com//does-the-gut-microbiome-ever-full
