She had some emotional issues but was really well informed of birth and knew she struggled but wanted the best for her little one. She was determined, and I was amazed she felt so desperate to choose a brand new midwife and I determined to be the best I could. We only had a few months working together but her homebirth was a sweet and uneve...Continue reading

Ancient Paths Midwifery is celebrating its First Anniversary in the new Birth Center today. It’s been a whirlwind year with lots of opened doors, precious families and beautiful babies. Wish we could have a huge party but Facebook posts will have to suffice. Share a sweet memory with us, a photo from your birth, a pic of your baby no matter how old or leave us a review. Those really do matter! Thanks for choosing us to be part of your family!

Pregnant women are navigating more now than ever before. Over the last weeks they have had to change birth plans which only include their partner/support person and no guests. Today we are fielding calls because now OB groups are telling them they have to wear a mask inside the hospital at all times in labor and after birth. It’s hard enough to breath in the masks when you’re not running a birth marathon! The other part of that equation is once the birth is over, the Dads... are being sent home about 2 hours postpartum and not allowed back in the hospitals to see their wives and babies. They come pick them up when they are discharged. Edit this for update this evening; at SARH today: Dads have to drop wife off at L&D and will get called back when she’s complete and pushing and he can stay one hour after birth for bonding then back when she’s discharged. We’ve had many calls and discussions with women looking in to alternatives over the last month and we’re going to be talking to a lot more in the coming weeks. If they can’t transfer to us we’re referring for virtual doula services so here women can stay home as long as possible.
