We are so grateful to everyone who has supported us this year by donating , volunteering and helping spread the word about our foundation. We wish all our best ...to you and yours for the New Year! The 20th Annual Heart to Heart "Gala To Go" invitations will be mailed in January. Mark your calendars now and plan to attend the Gala on February 27, 2021!! This year our major fundraiser will be a "drive through dinner and online auction ". How about bidding for a week stay on a beautiful lake in Idaho or week stay at the Red Rocks of Sedona, AZ? Our 17th Annual Heart to Heart Gala "Up and Away With Wishes" was a successful fundraiser and enjoyed by all. On February 23rd, the Lone Tree Golf and Event Center was decorated with hot air balloons to the delight of all our guests. Both the Silent and Live Auctions offered many getaways, sport tickets, dinners, wine tastings, and vacation homes in Sedona,Tahoe and Pine Mtn Lake to name a few. SANTA FOR SENIORS was held on December 11th for the residents of Country Place, on Olive Lane in Antioch. Santa and his helpers delivered each resident a bag of gifts which were topped off with a personal lap quilt donated by Queen B's quilt Shop, Delta Quilters and Quilts to Share. A stuffed animal from White Pony Express greeted each resident. This event is made possible by a donation from Delta Realtors Community Foundation. Our participation in the Somersville Mall Senior Walk in recognition of Alzheimer Awareness Month was recognized at the Antioch City Council with signed certificates from our elected officials. AEWF worked hand in hand with Somersville Mall, Meals on Wheels and Councilwoman Lori Ogorchock. Save the first Friday of November 2018 for the 2nd Annual Senior Walk.

An Elderly Wish loved telling their story at the 1st Annual Senior Walk at Somersville Mall the first Friday of November. Mark your calendar now for 2018. AEWF was one of 38 Senior agencies sharing their information and services in Contra Costa County.

Our foundation loves making senior wishes come true!!

Christmas is a wonderful season of sharing!! AMR ambulance company contacted our foundation to see if we knew of a seniorthat wanted transportation to visit a loved one over the holidays. Since we grant wishes by request only, our office referred this special offer to the Bedford Center, a daycare for seniors in Antioch. Our foundation had granted a one time wish for a client to visit her mom at Thanksgiving. Our office knew that she really wanted to go for Christmas too so we referred the offer to the Bedford Center. The offer was accepted and now our client will be able to make a second visit thanks to AMR. What a special Christmas gift!!

The new cover photo is Manuel with his wife & friends "out on a date". Our foundation arranged for a handicap accessible van to transport Manuel and his wife, from San Miguel Villa to see flowers at Heather Farms. After the tour, they were driven to their favorite restaurant, Colors in Piedmont, for old times sake. Manuel's wish was granted!

Our foundation was pleased to be part of a committee of five, to work with Lori Ogorchock, Antioch City Councilwoman, to host the 1st Annual Spirited Senior Walk, at Somersville Mall, in honor of Alzheimer's Awareness Month on November 3rd. Thanks to the 38 senior agencies who spent the morning sharing their information available to the seniors here in East County. The last two wishes have brought great joy and happiness to our recipients. To his surprise Ray(76), from Concord, was able to spend a day sturgeon fishing one more time with friends. His caregiver Kris called us so we could surprise him with this special trip! Captain James and Ray show off his "catch of the day"! Mila (94), from Danville, had a beautiful day with her loving family at the Claremont Hotel for Brunch including a surprise visit from a niece from Detroit. The seven of them enjoyed every moment sharing stories and memories from the past.
