I always 100% recommend a home inspection when you buy! 1 - Find a licensed inspector. They’ll be trained to check the foundation, roof, exterior, electrical, plumbing, appliances, etc. 2 - Come with any questions or issues you want them to look deeper into. ... 3 - Set aside time for when the inspector finishes to review their findings & ask questions. 4 - You can always request the sellers to do some or even all of the fixes during escrow. A tip to remember: no home is perfect! There will always be issues on the home inspection but you get to decide if any of them are deal breakers for you! Every see the circus come to town in a neighborhood? It means it was time to get rid of some termites! They recommend tenting a home every 10 years - especially in our moist conditions at the coast. During fumigation, the gases suffocate and kill pests within a structure without damaging the structure itself. (The gas doesn’t leave a residue that harms humans but we still recommend removing all unsealed food.)
