Bob McElroy, CEO of The Alpha Project, thanked American Medical Response San Diego's Maddie Baudoin Ghorashi for teaming up with owner of Cocina 35 Mexican restaurant, Paulina Chaidez to provide a traditional Mexican Christmas dessert, Buenellas (meant to bring good luck). AMR underwriting the cost for the Christmas treats for 500 homeless this year.

AMR Helping Shape Brighter Futures for the Underserved #DYK AMR works to encourage positive change for the underserved throughout San Diego? Earlier this week, Paramedic Ennis Jackson spent some time providing a virtual health education presentation to help encourage the development of life-saving skills and wellness for detained youth. The youth and probation staff really enjoyed Ennis’ presentation on CPR and First Aid. The class was provided in a simple, easy-to-understand format, with real life situations. This lesson opened the opportunity for discussion and kept us all engaged. Safety is paramount during these difficult times," said Juan Serrano, Program Coordinator, Wellness Team at Juvenile Hall.

AMR Brings Hoover High School "FACES for the Future" EMS Program Virtual Each year, American Medical Response partners with FACES for the Future, a program of the Center for Healthier Communities at Rady Children’s Hospital that provides youth from diverse backgrounds and challenges with opportunities to learn about health career options and gain the confidence, skills and support to pursue their dreams. The program specifically prepares socio-economically diverse high schoo...l students from City Heights for careers that offer upward mobility. This year, AMR brought their EMS presentation to Hoover High School students VIRTUALLY. The program focused on health careers in EMS, where students got to explore their own personal interests in emergency medical services, as AMR dispatchers, EMTs, paramedics and managers introduced them to a variety of career pathways in EMS. It’s a special program and AMR is proud to play a part this effective and meaningful community partnership, said Madeleine D. Baudoin, AMR Government and Public Affairs Manager. Students got to ZOOM in and see AMR and REACH Air Medical personnel operating in their real world work environment, ask questions, and hear stories about various different health career pathways in EMS. "It was nice to be able to see all of the guest speakers in their workplaces--we don't usually get to see that when they present in our classroom," said Christina Saffran, CTE Teacher, Hoover High School.
