It is with great sadness that American Indian Insurance Services announces the passing of AIIS Tribal Liaison and Gaming expert Norman H. DesRosiers, on March 15, 2020. Norm was an extraordinary human being and advocate of Indian Country. He is best known as the Gaming Regulator and Commissioner for many tribes across the United States. His contributions and efforts to protect tribal assets through gaming regulatory policies is accredited and recognized in many of today’s tr...ibal ordinances and policies. Known to many as the God father of Gaming Regulatory, Norm will be missed by many in Indian Country. He was just awarded by the National Tribal Gaming Commissioners and Regulators organization with the Jeff F. Metoxen award last week for over 20 years of service to tribes. Surrounded by immediate family and close friends, Norm made his journey leaving behind his wife Janice Stevens DesRosiers, four children Anthony, Eric, Carl and Chrissa. 16 grandchildren, siblings and two great grandchildren. Please keep the DesRosiers family in prayers during this difficult time. Tribes, the gaming industry and family have lost a great man and warrior this week. All services will be pending due to Corona-virus epidemic and restrictions. A memorial service is TBD as the family wants to ensure all are given the opportunity to attend once the restrictions for travel and gathering limitations are lifted.
