A discussion today reminded me of safety lesson I learned many years ago, fortunately, without disastrous results. My personal experience and advise is , if you want to use latex gloves, NEVER USE THE BLUE NITRILE GLOVES AROUND ROTATING EQUIPMENT!!! They are made to be tear-resistant and if they come in contact with a rotating cutter or work piece, instead of tearing off of your hand, it will pull your hand into the rotating object. I was fortunate to learn this at a very slow tool speed. A bit of advice from your friendly, neighborhood toolmaker.

I've noticed a lot of recent interest in the American Avenue Tool Shop page. I truly appreciate the patronage of my shops page. Unfortunately, the shop is all but closed due to lack of interest. Although many have shown interest in the page, the shop itself can no longer be sustained. I have moved on to another vocation. If anyone should need the shop's services, they are, as of this writing, still available. However, no business can remain active without sufficient clientel . I thank you all for your support. It is appreciated.
