My first session of the year back in the beginning of January, which feels like yesterday! Anyone else feel like January just flew by? With this group we were all cracking up the whole session!

Those that do for others and expect nothing in return are invaluable in this world. The first winner I’m sharing from the Giving Tuesday nomination winners is Jennifer Hodge, who created and coordinates the Produce Pantry here in Mariposa. Jennifer, her family and I got together before the holidays for her session (yes, I’m just now posting because we all know I’m not the best at it ) and I really enjoyed getting to know them and learning about the creation of the Produce P...antry, which is the reason she was nominated. During the pandemic Jennifer knew that small family farms were suffering and wanted to help, so she contacted a few and coordinated with them what fruits and vegetables they had available weekly, then spread the word in our community that she would deliver them to those interested in purchasing. Over time, it has grown to multiple options available from fresh farms to the tables in Mariposa. Jennifer sends the list of what is available each week, compiles the orders, then she, her husband and a few helpers pick up and deliver to 4 locations in Mariposa every Thursday. Everyone that helps with the produce pantry does so as a volunteer. Jennifer shared with me that one of best parts of starting the Produce Pantry is all of the new, wonderful people that she has meet through the group. I would like to thank Jennifer and everyone involved, for the amazing group that has been created to help the small farmers continue with their businesses and to provide other options to the families in our community. I would also like to thank Jill Harry for nominating Jennifer and recognizing that she’s one of those people that deserve as much as they give.

Jenni Kiser at Mountain Fitness Mariposa, CA is doing an amazing raffle for a small business relief fund to help those in our community that have to close during this round of Covid lockdown. $10 a a ticket and all of these amazing raffle prizes!

Alright, announcing the winners early! I had an amazing group of people to select from and it was MUCH more difficult to choose than I had expected! It was such a breath of fresh air to read so many wonderful things about so many amazing people!
