Hello Friends! This weekend marks the end of our 2017/2018 performance season and your last chance to see the wonderful Jenna McClintock. Shows are Friday and Saturday night at 7pm and Sunday at 2pm. Advanced tickets can be purchased by calling the hotel front desk on (760)852-4441. Tickets are $25. Amargosa Café is also closing for June and July. As part of our special programming this season; We have a really great event coming up. Starting March 24, the Amargosa Opera House will be hosting a Murder Mystery Masquerade Opera for four consecutive saturday Matinees. Written by Daniel Stallings and presented by Master Mystery Productions. We are very excited for this special presentation of Exit Prima Donna. Sounds pretty dang cool to me! See you there. What a great day for a tour of ye ol' opera house. Been giving them all day, as a matter of fact. Here is a shot of an early one. Seems so long ago. A group of friends from Santa Rosa, Petaluma and surrounding areas (some call it wine country, some call it the "bay area") came through as well as a few vandwellers. What a beautiful group to pass through.

Thanks to all the ukelele bands that performed this past Sunday at the Opera House. They played to a packed house full of friends and music lovers. All proceeds were donated to the Opera House to help continue Marta's artistic legacy. Thanks to Nancy from NanUke and the Apologies for organizing this fun event. We appreciate everyone's continued support!!

If you were to visit Death Valley Junction today, you would notice that Marta Becket is shining from on high, on this beautiful and sunny day. It has been one year to the day, that we lost our amazingly talented Marta Becket, leaving behind the beautiful Opera House in its 50th year of original, artistic performance in the desert. The season opened with a near sold out crowd of fans and friends from around the country, and now we look forward to toasting Marta (and her lega...cy) with you on February 10th. It is because of your faithful visits to Death Valley Junction, and passionate support -- year after year -- that Marta's artistic legacy not only survives but indeed thrives! Marta's vision for the classic arts will always be honored on her stage in the opera house, as it is today through the work of Marta's protege, Hilda Vazquez. And to the future: with more beautiful programming to come. Thanks for being with us through the years and take a moment today to honor Marta in whichever way you know how. We miss you Marta.

Wow! It has been a while since we posted an update. We've been so busy around here in Death Valley Junction, time just slipped away. We had the good fortune of hosting so many lovely folks from all over the world for the holidays. Holy Smokes! The Holidays! We didn't even wish you a happy one! My goodness. The front desk hopes that all of you had a lovely time spent with friends and family. We gained a lot of new names in the guestbook and shared our rich history with so many... folks and Marta gained even more fans! Other than that, we've just been busy enjoying the beautiful weather and amazing scenery. OH! and this....the 50th anniversary of the Opera House is coming up! That's right. 50 YEARS!!! We've put together an amazing program for you all on February 10th to celebrate 50 years of wonderful performance at the Amargosa Opera House.
