Many people have become so afraid of soaps. I can understand, store bought soaps are full of synthetic cleansers (surfactants) that strip your skin of their natural oils and dry out your skin. Many of these surfactants are found in many of our daily use products from shampoos, body washes, baby wash, toothpastes etc. Unfortunately, these chemicals get absorbed by our largest organ, our skin. Althea Naturals was born when looking for skin care products that were not laden with synthetic chemicals that either dried out, irritated or cause an allergic reaction on my skin. I'm not a person with overly sensitive skin or allergic to everything. It turns out that our bodies don't know what to do with all these chemicals in our daily products. Most products have the synthetic versions of vitamins and antioxidants. Dimethicones (silicones that trap germs on skin surface a...mong other things) are in everything and are also non-biodegradable. The list can go on and on but I will spare you the details. All I can say is read and research your ingredients on your labels. Althea (meaning healing) Naturals products are based on natural oils, herbs, natural or minimally processed ingredients and whenever possible organic. No synthetic fragrances but essential oils for their scent and healing properties. There are 11 products under development but currently I am launching with body soaps. After trial tests coming back very positive and people asking for soaps for sale I have 12 varieties to start with and will be developing others as time goes on.
