Just did this custom mod in a 2002 E320 MBZ. Opening up the standard 1 din opening and relocating climate controls so the original locations could accept the new wireless Apple Car Play/Android Auto from Pioneer. Also added a Back up cam looked factory, also retained audio controls on the steering wheel. Looks super clean!

So when your told I can install my own radio Well I guess that’s 1 way.
