This post is to update my post from the other day about Public Charge. USCIS posted it on their website - it is official! No i-944 filing and the forms of assistance received by the government are now not as strict as the Trump Administration made them. I would advise speaking to a lawyer before ever receiving any form of government assistance to be on the safe side. This is AWESOME news! The public charge rule is being set back to the 1999 policy. The Trump Admin's harsh Public Charge policy will no longer be enforced. Just waiting on USCIS to issue a statement on their website and things will go back to before Trump, for the time being. Now this doesn't mean that you should go ask for assistance. Some assistance is still considered a public charge.
