It has long been the custom in the Western Church to observe All Saints Day by remembering the lives of all who have died -- and at our annual parish celebration of this festival, we remember by name all those close to the life of this parish who have died since we last gathered on All Saints Day. This week as we prepare for our November 1st celebration of All Saints Sunday and Día de Los Santos y Fieles Difuntos, you are invited to bring photographs, garments, flowers, favorite foods, stories or other reminders of departed loved ones and place them on the altar in the church -- and to spend a few minutes in prayer and reflection in the sanctuary.
