Because we had two employees who tested positive, out of an abundance of caution, we have closed the allergy office on Friday July 10th thru Tuesday, July 14. We will reopen on Wednesday, July 15th with our regular hours. We have tested the rest of our employees and they are negative so far and will get tested again next week before we reopen. We are in the process of deep cleaning the entiere office where we are disinfecting the office air and ventilation and wiping down all surfaces. We are committed to providing a safe place for our patients and will be routinely testing our staff weekly. Thank you for our patience and placing your trust in us to keep you safe!

When I wear a mask in public: I want you to know that I am educated enough to know that I could be asymptomatic and still give you the virus. No, I don’t live in fear of the virus; I just want to be part of the solution, not the problem.... I don’t feel like the government is controlling me; I feel like I’m being a contributing adult to society and I want to teach others the same. The world doesn’t revolve around me. It’s not all about me and my comfort. If we all could live with other people's consideration in mind, this whole world would be a much better place. Wearing a mask doesn’t make me weak, scared, stupid, or even controlled. It makes me considerate. When you think about how you look, how uncomfortable it is, or what others think of you, just imagine someone close to you - a child, a father, a mother, grandparent, aunt, or uncle - choking on a respirator , alone without you or any family member allowed at bedside. Ask yourself if you could have sucked it up a little for them. Copied and posted. Can you do the same?

Johanna and I are sponsoring an educational program and would love people to learn about COVID's impact on women. Please join me for a special event next Thursday for COVID-19, Conflict & Gender: How the pandemic is affecting men and women differently in conflict affected communities and why it matters, a virtual cocktail party and discussion with Shamil Idriss, the CEO of Search for Common Ground. Search for Common Ground is the world’s largest dedicated peacebuilding org...anization.(https://www.sfcg.org/) I joined the President's Leadership Council because i believe in their vision of mediating conflict. They will have staff from overseas on the call. COVID-19, like a terrifying global storm, has hit all of us. But it hasn’t hit all of us equally. With nearly 800 staff on five continents, Search for Common Ground is working on the frontlines as the pandemic collides with poverty, conflict, and gender inequality. Join Shamil and staff from the field as they discuss how COVID-19 is affecting men and women differently in conflict-affected areas. We will be joined by Irena Grizelj from Myanmar and Judy Kimamo from Kenya who recently presented their work to the State Department. The event is FREE and there is NO requirement to give. If you're interested in attending, please register here.

I have created a website bulletin board for the general public to peruse. It has lots of great articles regarding the coronavirus that have been sent to me. A few days ago, i posted a primer for the lay person on the diagnostic tests available for coronavirus. I encourage signing up for free on the upper right corner of the website : https://www.thecoronavirusdoc.com/
