All Creatures Great and Small Rescue 06.11.2020

Last week we took in a Mum and two of her four puppies. Cocoa was originally found on the streets of Fresno, taken to the Humane Society to be find out she was pregnant. A rescue out of Santa Cruz took her in, where she gave birth to four puppies. Due to the fires in the Santa Cruz mountains the rescuer felt that it was best for the canine family to be transferred to another rescue, for their own safety also the rescuer had serious medical issues, very sad for her. Thanks... to Kevin Barcellos who volunteered to bring the family to safety. Cocoa is being fostered in San Jose, Sawyer and Sadie are in Gilroy. We have COCOA the Mum, Sawyer male (tan) puppy and Sadie the female puppy with cute curly tail and black stripe down her back. The family are Chihuahua cross. Only Cocoa knows whodaddy was!!! COVID has really affected our donations, we know the costs for getting the family vetted etc, plus Mum will need a full dental. With funds being very low we are reaching out to all our FaceBook fans, previous adopters and supporters to help us.If you can donate we would be very grateful. Donations can be made two ways, mail; a cheque to PO BOX 904, HOLLISTER.CA 95024 or click on the DONATE BUTTON and donate via PAYPAL on our website www.allcreaturesgs.org . If you would like to be considered to adopt either Cocoa (MUM 3yrs old) or SAWYER or SADIE or have questions please call/text 831-917-5570 or email [email protected]. Dawn: call/text: 408-310-7955. Thank you for your support, we could not do this without your help. Blessings and please everyone stay safe and well.

This story in my email box today, really touched my heart. Please read about SMOKEY, he is in a shelter in Georgia, but with this valuable tool we all have, maybe posting him on your FaceBook, Twitter or whatever social media you may use. Might help to get this handsome well behaved PitBull into a perfect forever home. Smokey has been set up for failure time and time again. Now it’s time that he gets his chance to shine. Smokey originally came to us in June of 2018 from a...Continue reading

THOR IS LISTED AS VERY URGENT as of 8/02/20 THOR 1 YR old WHITE GSD/HUSKY CROSS NEEDS HOME ASAP THOR IS IN SACRAMENTO. PLEASE SHARE OR POST CROSS. HE IS NOT AN ACGSRESCUE DOG.... Urgent! Sacramento, CA - Thor is a very pretty and sweet 1-y/o male pup. He appears to be mostly White German Shepherd/Husky and needs a home ASAP. His owner has realized she does not have the time to spend with this energetic pup as she is working full time. Thor weighs about 72 lbs and is up to date on vaccinations, but he has to be neutered for adoption. We will require a Neuter Deposit of $200 that will be reimbursed to the veterinarian at the time of the procedure. Thor is playful with other dogs but a little rough with the smaller dogs. He is not good with cats so we will not place him in a home with small dogs, cats or children. Thor walks pretty good on leash with some corrections, and would benefit from some more training ... he is very smart! He is housetrained if he can go out every few hours (he's still a pup!). Thor has a little Separation Anxiety and will whine or howl for about 10 minutes or so when you leave him home alone. We like to place our rescues in homes with those that are around a lot - i.e. work at home, retired or can take with. Leaving a dog home alone all day only encourages unwanted behaviors. Good daily exercise also helps keep these pups out of trouble! Thor has a slight fear of men so a home with a woman or gentle patient man would be best. Thor is very playful and loves to be outdoors on hikes in the woods on a long leash. Transportation help is available. Click on our link WANT TO ADOPT? or contact Pamela Jo at [email protected] TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE HE HAS ONE WEEK TO FIND A HOME

I find that this survey is rubbish. Perhaps they forgot to ask young women in the Animal Rescue world. Men with cats are not less masculine, not in my books. Dating profiles, whether online or on an app, take a lot of thought. What do you write about yourself? Which pictures do you choose? While creating the most attractive dating profile is not an exact science, there are a few surprising turn-offs you should be sure to avoid. In fact, a recent study found that men who pos...t photos with their cat are less likely to get a date. Colorado State University researchers showed 708 young women two images of two men, but in one they're by themselves and in the other, they're holding a feline friend. It turns out, the men with pets weren't the cat's meow. For the first man, 38 percent of women said they were likely to casually date him, and 37 percent said they'd consider a serious relationship with him when he was posed alone. But that number dropped to 33 percent in both instances when he was joined by his furry pal. At the same time, the amount of women who said they weren't interested at all rose from 9 percent to 14 percent due to his pet. With the second subject, 45 percent of respondents said they'd be unlikely or certain not to date the man with a cat. 708 young women were interviewed, perhaps they need to ask more. "Men holding cats were viewed as less masculine; more neurotic, agreeable, and open; and less dateable," the authors wrote, pointing to common stereotypes about individuals who are 'team cat.'

IS ANYONE LOOKING FOR A BEAUTIFUL 3YR OLD FEMALE GSD TO ADOPT. SHE HAS TO BE RE-HOMED BY JULY 3RD. PLEASE CONTACT PAMELO JO. INFO ON THE BIO. PLEASE SHARE, LET’S FIND IVY THE RIGHT HOME WITH PEOPLE WHO HAVE THE TIME TO DEVOTE TO HER, THAT IS WHAT HER CURRENT OWNER WOULD LIKE. Ben Lomond, CA - This pretty German Shepherd female is named Ivy and she needs a new home by July. Her owner loves her dearly but travels for work now and does not have adequate time for her. Ivy is ...3 years old, spayed and up to date on vaccinations. She is in good health. She is more submissive with male dogs so best in a home with a nice friendly large male companion. Ivy is a bit fearful of small dogs as she has been attacked a few times, so no small dogs or children. She would like a nice calm household, daily exercise and lots of love and attention. She has some intermittent separation anxiety but she is doing well when left home with her male companion. Ivy would love someone that is around a lot, works at home, retired, etc. She is good with 6' fencing and does not climb or dig. Ivy is shy with new humans and would be happy to have a nice gentle woman as her best friend. Ivy has had lots of training and is a very smart girl and she loves her car rides. ARCHIE: 2 1/2 year old Orange/White male cat. Archie was one of our feral cats that was trapped fixed and microchipped Nov 11th 2019. Our feeder was seeing him at feeding times, then he stopped turning up. Archie was dropped off at the Hollister Animal Shelters drop box two weeks ago, with a note: I’ve been feeding this cat and giving him water, he must belong to someone as he is a little friendly. No other information provided. Archie had a large abscess on his neck.... Perhaps this kind lady was unable to afford to take him to the vet for care, so she did the right thing. Thanks to the microchip, the shelter was able to contact us, and let us know Archie’s plight. We are so very grateful to the shelter as they held onto Archie and worked with us, while we worked out where we could safely house him, until the vet appointment. Archie has now received the vet care, abscess removed, antibiotics given along with booster vaccines. What we would love is to find a forever home for Archie, it can be in/out with guidelines or a barn cat, we do not want to return him to the feral cat site. Archie looks sad, but remember he was quite ill, and in time he will look handsome. Meantime until he heals he is being well cared for. Thank you to LIsa and Yvette for all their help. Please contact us at 831-917-5570 phone/text or email [email protected] if you would like to give Archie a home. Just as an FYI....Hollister shelter will hold onto an animal for 10 days. Please if anyone ever uses the drop box always include your name and phone number and where the animal was found. For us that would have been a lot of help, so we knew where it was he wandered off to. Also please MICROCHIP all your pets. We have always done this for our adopted animals and all the feral cats we feed, so we can keep a track of them, in Archie’s case it saved his life.

2 pet cats in New York test positive for COVID-19 Health Apr 22, 2020 2:47 PM EDT NEW YORK Two pet cats in New York state have tested positive for the coronavirus, marking the first cases in companion animals in the United States, federal officials say. The cats, which had mild respiratory illnesses and are expected to recover, are thought to have contracted the virus from people in their households or neighborhoods, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the federal Center...s for Disease Control and Prevention say. The finding, which comes after positive tests in seven tigers and lions at the Bronx Zoo, add to a small number of confirmed cases of the virus in animals worldwide. U.S. authorities say that while it appears some animals can get the virus from people, there’s no indication the animals are transmitting it to human beings. The two cats live in different parts of the state; the USDA and CDC wouldn’t say where specifically. Authorities are recommending that any pet owners with COVID-19 avoid contact with their animals as much as possible, including wearing a face covering while caring for them.

Dear Vivian, Just now, we could all use some hope and good news. We’re thrilled to share news of some monumental victories for animals that have occurred in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. For the first time, China’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs has stated that dogs are companions and should not be included as livestock. Coming so soon after Shenzhen, the first city in mainland China to ban the consumption of dogs and cats, we are hopeful that this signals an... imminent shift in China’s policies concerning the dog and cat meat trade. Even more recently, the second city in mainland China, Zhuhai, reaffirmed the companion animal status for dogs and cats when it outlawed wildlife consumption. None of this would be possible without supporters like you! Finally, our partner group, Vshine, helped rescue over 400 dogs, including stolen pets, in Henan, China. The dogs in need of urgent veterinary attention were immediately transferred to our partner shelter, where they’re receiving the care they need. With you by our side, we’ve been at the forefront of ending the dog and cat meat trade across Asia for many years, and together, we’re truly making progress! We will continue all our work to end this cruelty and protect all the world’s animals, even during this challenging time. I hope that these victories make you smile. Thank you so much for your support! Sincerely, Kelly O'Meara Vice President, Companion Animals & Engagement Humane Society International

A lot has been discussed circulated about COV-19, animals v people, and people v animals. I think this will ease our minds. Educational Series: Learn How to Protect Animals From Deadly Coronavirus Earlier this month Nadia, a tiger at the Bronx Zoo, earned an unwelcome distinction: the majestic big cat became the first animal in the United States to officially test positive for COVID-19. Nadia was tested after she, four other tigers, and two lions at the zoo began exhibiting s...Continue reading

Wo Breaking : Good News Dear Friends, We wanted you to be the first to know that Shenzhen, China's 5th largest city and border town to Hong Kong, has not just banned Wildlife. It has agreed to ban dog and cat meat. Following the coronavirus outbreak and the intense pressure we have been putting on China to close all live slaughter markets, China first decreed a temporary ban on eating Wildlife.... A few weeks ago, residents in Shenzhen were asked whether they wanted a full ban, and they also considered what meats they no longer felt safe to eat. We push for plant-based solutions, but we were happy residents said they felt dogs be part of their family. This means ( and of course it will need to be enforced) Dog and Cat meat will no longer be eaten in Shenzhen, and our hope is that Yulin will also not take place this year. I can't believe it is over five years since I wrote about food safety on April's World Health Day and ten years since we started campaigning. Nature is cruel with this deadly virus, but for the animals, it may be kind. Thank you for sticking with us #NoActionTooSmall Julia and all the team @notodogmeat

Sir Edwin's Shooter Is Going to Prison Over 25,000 of you signed Lady Freethinker's petition, and now we have an important update. Justice has been served for Sir Edwin, a 3-year-old Dalmatian slain in his own home when Joshua Marcantonio of Glen Falls, N.Y. fired a shotgun through the front door, killing the innocent dog. This week, Judge Kelly McKeighan sentenced Marcantonio to 15 years in prison after the jury found him guilty on felony charges of attempted burglary, crimi...nal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, and animal cruelty. This is the maximum sentence for attempted burglary. Thank you to everyone who signed the petition or spoke out for justice, the prosecutors, the jury, and the judge for taking a strong stand against violence against animals. While no sentence can bring Sir Edwin back to his family who loved him, the court has sent a clear message that shooting a dog will not be tolerated.
