Face coverings are one of the most effective ways to slow the spread of #covid19. In #AlamedaCounty, masks are required at all times when out in public, even when exercising or with your social bubble. By doing our part to wear face masks, maintain a safe distance from others (6 ft. or more), practice safe hygiene, we can keep each other safe and healthy and slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community. #maskontomoveon

Last week, the Board of Supervisors unanimously allocated $10 million to create a pilot program to provide stipends to eligible #AlamedaCounty residents who have tested positive for #COVID19 and do not have paid sick leave or unemployment benefits. Without this safety net, COVID-positive workers who cannot afford the lost wages are forced to choose between making ends meet or sheltering in place to self-quarantine. With this $1,250 stipend, Alameda County aims to stop the spread of COVID-19 by allowing workers to recover safely at home. The program is in development and will target the hardest hit neighborhoods in Alameda County. Eligible residents will need a referral from contracted community health clinics. Additional details will be shared once the program begins.

Help shape America’s future by responding to the Census before October 31, 2020. You can fill it out online, by phone, or by mail.
