Metropolitan Gerasimos has indicated that this 22nd September will be the Official Opening of the doors for the Alex and Faye Spanos Faith Heritage Center..... St Nicholas Ranch & Retreat Center in Dunlap California. The generosity and support the Spanish family and keep making revision and dream of Metropolitan Anthony of blessed memory and will become a Gateway facility for the activities The Retreat Center serving so the young and old and also being the home of the St Photini Chapel...... which features special artifacts carved in Crete and iconography and frescoes by Dr George Kordis, the building was designed by CJK design in a Colaborative team with his Eminence Metropolitan Gerasimos,Bishop Apostolos, The of an is Economides,director Mike Pappas ,and the Ranch Board

Phase 1 of the iconography program for the chapel of St Photini Chapel of the Alex and Faye Spanos Faith & Heritage Center at st. Nicholas ranch and retreat center in Dunlap is complete. Dr. George Kordis and his team from Athens and in three and a half weeks completed the first phase which are painted directly onto the walls within the building designed by Christ J Kamages FAIA CJK design. The project is slated to be completed within the next 4 weeks.... the vision of Metropolitan Anthony of blessed memory and mentored by Metropolitan Gerasimos. .....

Great progress at the Center, as it moves towards completion. There's a great deal of excitement as the finishing touches and Iconograpghy painted by Dr George Kordis and team starts to take shape take a look and enjoy!

As the construction work is in the final phases of completion of the $1.2million ,8000 square foot the Alex & Faye Spanos , Metropolis of San Francisco Faith Heritage Center. The iconographers from Team Kordis , traveling from Valley Forge Pennsylvania ,where they're working on the Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Church,are scheduled to be at the center this Sunday -the tragic fire the rages on the ridges beyond , threatens the Monastery of the Living Spring, and the St.;Nichola...s Ranch and Retreat center which both are on the brink of the evacuation due to the threatening fire, please keep the Monastery and the St Nicholas Ranch and Retreat center in your prayers. St.Nicholas Ranch and Retreat center the brainchild" of Metropolitan Anthony,of blessed memory , and was one of the first of such retreat center camps in the Orthodox world in North America (a contemporaneous of Antiochian Village in Ligonier Pa). Work continues on the Metropolis of San Francisco Alex and Faye Spanos Faith Heritage Center at St.Nicholas ranch and retreat center in Dunlap Ca.We are looking forward to the completion of the building portion shortly and the First Phase of the Iconography being painted( written ) during the period between September 12th and the beginning of October. With frescoes depicting the different ministries and milestones of Orthodoxy in the Metropolis of San Francisco and the Americas which will be celebrating the triumphant message in a decorative and didactic process.. Inspections are final interior finishes are proceeding this week.... the creation of the bold exterior image painting and silver standing seam roof progress vividly to create a beautiful presence.....

Ready for exterior paint .The selected paint scheme is based upon the great traditions of Byzantium, Silver roofs and Persimmon walls also agricultural rural California and against the beautiful changing landscape from green in the winter to more arid golden tones in the Summer -interior ready for final inspections before Gypsum wallboard and keim paint on the walls to receive Egg Tempera Icons and frescoes by Dr George Kordis, the ceiling & trusses will remain wood. Dr. Ko...rdis will tap his total breath of experience from iconography in the St. Photini Chapel dressed appropriately with the appropriate icons in the style of Dr Kordis’ wall paintings to secular frescoes depicting the ministries established and solidified by Metropolitan Anthony a blessed memory, all the Parishes in Cathedrals in the Metropolis, and then also a section dedicated to orthodoxy in the New World especially with the West Coast’s contributions through Fort Ross, St. Tikhon, St. John of Shanghai & San Francisco, and the incredible blossoming of Orthodoxy on the West Coast , the Metropolis of San Francisco and throughout North America- From Sacred to Secular, all on the walls to reach out to teach, inspire and provoke- visitors and friends , revealin and witness the Illumination of Orthodoxy ! Included are images of progress of CJK Designed wood artifacts carved very talented craftsman in Crete- This will be a very special place of Faith & Heritage !
