New today in our Reverb store: That’s one tiny little bass. A replica of John Entwistle’s original Spider Bass that you can take anywhere. This was John’s first custom Alembic with the spider web inlays. The swirly pearl finish emulates the Bird’s-eye Maple top - wait until you see this in person. Intricately detailed with all 24 frets and even a tiny Alembic logo, this hard enamel lapel pin has two clutches on the back to the won’t spin when you wear it. https://reverb.com/item/38471686-alembic-spider-bass-pin

A second Rezin Buckeye Burl arrived at Eddie's Guitars guitars this week. This time in sublime shades of turquoise with a shock of red and blue resin for full color overload. Check out the sparkles in the red zone (or the heart of the dragon as we call it). We’ve bookmatched the front veneer of the peghead from the same piece of wood as the top. We spend just as much time selecting the location for the peghead template as the body. Love the figuring around the inlaid logo! Side LEDs in red with blue at the 12th and 24th fret coordinate perfectly as does the abalone inlays and chrome plated hardware.

Here’s what we do with that Rezin Buckeye Burl. This Further guitar looks like a deep space object. We love how the smoky resin intersects the pickups and a natural undyed stripe crosses the tailpiece. Placement of the template is critical in achieving the best possible look. The front veneer of the peghead is bookmatched from the same piece of wood as the top. We spend just as much time selecting the location for the peghead template as the body. Side LEDs in violet with a...mber at the 12th and 24th fret coordinate perfectly as does the golden mother of pearl inlays and gold plated hardware. This guitar will be arriving at Eddie's Guitars next Tuesday so if this one of a kind guitar is for you call them up and reserve it before it’s gone for good.

Hey, did someone turn back the clock to 1969? No, we just got a fresh load of amazing Rezin Buckeye Burl and wasted no time in resawing this eye candy. These colors and patterns remind us of Bill Ham light shows at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco. Bill has DVDs available on his website www.billhamlights.com with his kinetic abstract expressionism. Supply of this material is limited, so reserve one for your custom build today. *... * * * #alembic #resininfusedwood #rezin #buckeyeburl #psychedelic #lightshowinaguitar #handmade #madeinusa See more

On October 9th we delivered our first Alembic Element acoustic guitar. This first run is 8 pieces, and this first one has a lovely Flame Koa back and sides with a Bearclaw Sitka Spruce top. There are several custom options on this Koa guitar. Some of the highlights of this guitar:top: Sitka Spruce, Bearclaw figure back and sides: Flame Koa binding: Coco Bolo... purfling: abalone rosette: abalone bridge: Ebony saddle and nut: Tusq neck: Mahogany, Purpleheart, and Maple scale: 25.4" fingerboard: Ebony fingerboard binding: Bird's-eye Maple frets: EVO inlays: silver bound abalone custom inlays: initials in golden mother of pearl, simple stealie in acrylic and silver headstock front: Ebony logo: sterling silver inlaid with mother of pearl and abalone with abalone rays finish: lacquer I could go on and on about the tone, but I will try and keep it short. Very even across all strings and frets. Full and clear low end, with lovely highs that are crystalline but not harsh in anyway. Strumming isn't muddy at all. Fingerpicking is distinct with excellent attack. Play it soft or play it loud, excellent projection. Low action and very easy to play! The other woods we're using in this first run are: Quilted Maple, African Blackwood (sold), Indian Rosewood, Coco Bolo (x2), and Ziricote (x2). The next boxes going together are the Quilted Maple, African Blackwood, and one of the Coco Bolo, so stay tuned!

Just a quick update on the current fire situation. So far we are all safe here. Over the weekend a fast moving wildfire broke out in adjacent Napa County. Hot valley winds spread the fire westward and into Sonoma County. It burned to 11,000+ acres in less than 8 hours. It's now over 40,000 acres and still at zero containment. The attached map shows where we are located (green dot) compared to the current fire. The other dots are from satellite data. Red is for active in the l...ast 12 hours. Orange is 24 hours, yellow is 48 hours. The light pink shaded areas are the perimeters of the fires we had earlier this year. Ash is raining down everywhere, and the smoke has been so thick that yesterday it completely obscured the sun. Callistoga and other towns to the east have been wholly evacuated. We have friends staying with us that were evacuated. But we're hanging in there!

Simple and elegant, this Signature Deluxe bass was custom made for Dan, a friend from Sonoma County. Dan wanted to keep things clean and uncomplicated, so this fretless has a blank Ebony fingerboard, and gold plated hardware. Other than a single Ebony neck laminate for increased fundamental sustain, and a single continuous wood backplate, there's no bells and whistles on this bass, but it's still simply stunning. Tone wise it's everything that Dan wants: very forward sound with well-defined lows, distinct attack, and enough highs to keep the sound balanced. Signature electronics offer flexibility without loads of controls to navigate: just a volume and pan for the pickups, then separate low-pass filters and Q-switches for each pickup.
