Every year we welcome new teachers to our district and this fall, we a total of 15 new teachers across the district to introduce you to. Meet Katena Sanford! W...e are so excited to welcome her to the TTUSD family. Katena is a sixth-grade Math and Science teacher at Alder Creek Middle School. She earned her Science Teaching Credential from Sacramento State in 2016 and then worked in Elk Grove Unified School District for three years as an 8th-grade science teacher. She also has her Bilingual Authorization in Spanish! What are you most excited about working at TTUSD and working with kids? I am super excited to teach math and absolutely love the excitement of teaching science. I love when kids leave my class talking about the science they got to take part in that day. What do you like to do when you're not working (and not in quarantine)? I love to run, bake, travel, play games, hike, spend time with my husband and our cats, and see family. #TTUSDpride

I love middle schoolers! They are so much fun! And one of my favorite parts of my job is working with students that need us the most! I love working with our English learners.
