Thanks @houzz for featuring a house tour of our San Francisco penthouse project! The goal was to update the living spaces and personal rooms with traditional touches that brought warmth to the rooms while still complimenting the more modern existing kitchen and bath and unique architectural design elements. The intention was to create a visually and functionally welcoming space for the clients and especially their guests to find comfort and refuge in while enjoying the incredible city views.
In a home, the dining room provides a place to be and the dining table invites us to sit and be together. It is where we take the time to pause and gather around a shared table for a meal or conversation. We believe dining rooms are important spaces and our dining room design brings definition to open concept rooms and elevates small spaces. Here we take a look back to showcase dining rooms we have completed over the years.
Our favorite cocktails! For Christmas Eve by the fire, for chilly walks to see holiday lights, for celebrating on New Year's Eve, or for anytime at all because 2020. Everyone on the AMI team has a go-to holiday cocktail that you can try at home. Cheers!
Happy Thanksgiving from the AMI team. Thinking of all the special meals that will be enjoyed today and wanted to share the story of how this dining table came to be. From a much-loved walnut tree to an heirloom piece to be treasured for generations.
Set in the back of the house, this family room went from dark and dreary to a bright, pleasant spot the whole family now enjoys. Check out the ‘before’ pic read all the details on our website under the Woodside - A Modern Bungalow project.
Are you a pandemic plant parent too? We found a local expert Living Room Plant Co. to talk to us about our indoor plant obsession, including best options for purifying the air. A small yet very satisfying move to counter unhealthy air from the unfortunate wildfires.
Helping our client visualize material options with these elevations. This is for the coastside kitchen remodel that we shared the inspiration board for last week.
Inspiration for a new kitchen project. During our Discovery phase with clients we capture the look and feel of the space with vision boards like this one.
It’s going to be warm here in the Bay for the next week. Our late summer outdoor table collection might be just the inspiration needed to plan a special dinner or celebration!
Thanks Redfin for asking us to contribute to this piece on design-related mistakes new home owners often make (and how to avoid them)!
We’re talking about indoor/outdoor living this week, and highlighting this dynamic home in Marin. With views of Mt. Tam and a very intentional approach to the transitions from inside to outside, you’ll want to click through to see more of this stunning home designed by Richardson Pribuss Architects and Alden Miller Interiors. by Thibault Cartier
We’d love to be spending this summer in our client’s Sonoma vacation home. // We partnered with Geiszler Architects on this memorable project.
That time we went to Peru to visit an amazing textile farm! Our Senior Designer, Nate Lee, was traveling in South America (before the pandemic) and visited the Chinchero region which is known for it's iconic rainbow colored textiles. Take a virtual trip with us and learn how these colors are made with all natural dyes.
Installation peek in Woodside with these stunning Hans Sandgren Jakobsen stools in front of the fireplace. Can’t wait to share more from this project with architect Ana Williamson and her team.
Between summer and COVID-19 are you spending more time in your outdoor space? We definitely are. In our latest blog post we highlight Galantar & Jones heated outdoor furniture, and San Francisco-based landscape designer Kate Webster. Lots of inspiration for creating your own backyard or patio oasis!
Since it looks like we will be wearing masks for a while, why not wear ones that represent your personal style. We are offering kits to make your own mask at home with our salvaged designer fabrics. Also check out masks by Brooklyn-based textile designer and mom, Sarah Djarnie Brown, and make-your-own tutorial from San Francisco artist Jenny Lemons.
Drawn to light-filled open doors as summer begins and we look for signs of progress through these challenging times. // Our San Francisco basement transformation from a dark, enclosed garage to a bright, open family room with gorgeous custom glass and metal framed access to the backyard. #AMIprojects #interiordesign
Ending the week with very heavy hearts. We are committed to doing the important work of fighting racism and working to end racial injustice and inequality in this country. We believe black lives matter. We are sharing messages of solidarity, action steps, and resources from the design community in our stories. // Inspired to reflect and cultivate hope this weekend by this photo of natural light hitting a gorgeous Gee’s Bend quilt print in one of our projects.
