Bikeway and Pedestrian improvements on portions of Marin Avenue and construction activity for the project is winding down. Ghilotti Construction has completed ...nearly all tasks save for the installation of two light poles. Currently, franchised utility companies PG&E and AT&T are in the process of removing overhead lines and energizing undergrounded utilities. Comcast has recently completed their work of relocating their cable to the new underground conduits. This process will proceed until approximately March 2019 and will not impact traffic on Marin Ave, as did recent construction. The City recognizes that dealing with construction is not always easy and that putting up with congestion and parking problems is not fun. We would like to thank you for your patience in allowing us to provide you with the improvements entailed in this project. The Alameda County Transit Commission ( www.alamedactc.org ) administers the voter-approved half-cent sales tax known and Measure B as well as the Transportation Fund for Clean Air (TFCA). Both funding sources contributed significantly to roadway improvements including new bikeway improvements and crosswalks. The Marin Buchanan Rule 20A Utility Undergrounding and Bikeway Phase III Project serves two purposes: (i) convert utility poles to undergrounded facilities utilizing PG&E Rule 20A credits and (ii) to improve and promote alternative travel by way of extended bike lanes and improved sidewalks with new bulb-outs and ADA-compliant curb ramps.

The FOAS helped the Albany Senior Center kick off the 4th with their Pre-Independence Day BBQ Annual Celebration.
