Alameda StudioTime ‘Wear Are You Going’ is a one-week watercolor illustration project that explores reality and dreams and what makes illustration different from fine art. I love watercolors!
Wear Are You Going is a great one-week project exploring watercolor illustration. What makes an Illustration different from a Fine Art? For content we had the kids think about dreams and reality, using fashion/figures/landscapes. Watercolors + personal stories = DREAMY!
Watching Antiques Roadshow. He knows we’ll go around the block when it’s over.
SUMMER IS COMING! www. AlamedaStudioTime.org for descriptions, dates & details!
A Special StudioTime Summer is HAPPENING! Fun, freedom, creativity and JOY. Stay tuned...
Merlin is twelve weeks and is so easy to LOVE! He’s a rascal and so, so smart! June and Merlin constantly wrestle and play. Wallace is impatient and slightly grouchy with this little puppy.
StudioTime Year of the Ox - By flickering candlelight (fake) we drew individual and herds of oxen on cave walls (thick, crumpled craft paper.) The determination and strength of the ox is still a powerful symbol for us all. We used vine & compressed charcoal and earth toned pastels. We also looked at traditional Chinese artist chops and carved our own (in foam) to sign our pieces.
More Goodnight Ranch house pics. This West Texas family of ranchers caught my attention because Molly Goodnight (1800’s) was a rare women rancher. I was given this grand fancy dollhouse and this is my fictional flip, into a hardworking, practical ranch home that provided shelter, respite and a place to gather and celebrate. The miniature house is listed for sale and I’m getting inquiries from Texas, Nevada and California. So much joy!
Don’t be fooled. It’s like having a raccoon loose in the house.
The many daily chores and last minute holiday prep at the Goodnight Ranch. A magnificent miniature house almost finished!
Abruptly ending the StudioTime semester left me going at full speed! I was working in clay and paper in preparation for two holiday workshops. Now they’ll be gifts and explorations for future projects!
A Rosemary Holiday
I’m already missing my young artists and I’ve been busy in my studio dreaming up some fantastic new projects for 2021! I’ve already designed a few. The first is a multi-media project perfect for setting an intention for hopefulness and beauty for the new year. My BIG project of the semester is going to be outrageous. Think adventure, confidence and walking forward with bravery and style. It’s EVERYTHING to me to be a part of these beautiful children’s lives!
A very quiet morning, missing the sounds of happy artists and seeing beautiful finished sculptures...
Buck is really into the living room this week. Lounging, loafing and general lallygagging. The last week it was strictly the bedroom. Buck is around 14+ lbs and our new kitten Novia is probably 3lbs, yet he runs away from her like he’s really afraid. Buck never even acknowledged our other cat Eli...
Wallace was jealous.
