Red Flag Staffing The Alameda Fire Department has been requested to staff Water Tender 2 (WT02) by the California Office of Emergency Services (OES). WT02 is currently staffed with one Fire Captain, and one Apparatus Operator, and is available to respond throughout Alameda County, or Statewide if needed. Currently WT02 is being staffed until Saturday morning (10/24/2020). ... All Alameda Fire Stations remain open and fully staffed, and members are prepared to assist neighboring jurisdictions if needed. ***Alameda #Creek_Fire Response Strike Team Update*** 9/23/2020- Alameda Engine 501 is still assigned to the North Zone, with Strike Team #XMY_2176A. Other agencies from Monterey County, and San Francisco make up the other companies part of the team. #ALA_Eng_501 has now been assigned to the fire for 15 days. Yesterday (9/22/2020), 4 new firefighters were sent to exchange out with crew members. Seen above, the first four members (L-R) are switching with the last four ...members. To date, Alameda Fire has responded state-wide to 7 different fires, filling 5 Fire Engine requests, and 2 Water Tender responses. Alameda Fire has had a total of 26 members assigned to these companies providing mutual aid. Hornet Ave. Upon arrival crews were met with heavy smoke conditions from a commercial dwelling. ... Firefighters forced entry to the dwelling and attacked the single alarm fire. A relief crew of four new firefighters are on their way to exchange spots with members who have now been gone 14 days. ...
