MEET THE TEAM TUESDAY: Meet our experts at the Adventist Health AIS Cancer Center: Dr. Marcher Thompson specializes in comprehensive therapeutic radiation for cancer, including; cancers of the breast, gynecologic system, lungs, central nervous system and gastrointestinal system. She has experience providing care through advanced modalities such as intensity-modulated radiation therapy, image guided radiation therapy and stereotactic radiosurgery. Having found her calling to m...edicine at a young age, Dr. Thompson knew her path would lead her to a career as a physician. I have wanted to be a doctor since I was a child. I participated in many summer programs and medical-experience programs to ensure that the feeling I had was real, she says. Every experience further confirmed for me that I loved being a physician. Choosing radiation oncology as her specialty came from Dr. Thompson’s interest in the diverse patient population and the technological advancements inherent in the field. She finds strength and inspiration in the patients that she treats.
